At Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk, you can choose between hangover soup and tripe soup, and its traditional Jeju dombe meat comes in small, medium, and large portions, so it doesn’t feel like too much to order as a side.

Kkakdugi and Cheongyang chili pepper side dishes

The basic sides are kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), Cheongyang chili peppers, and minced garlic! Add one spoonful of the garlic right before eating the hangover soup, and it really takes the gukbap flavor up a notch. There are also unlimited free bowls of rice at the self-service bar, so I especially recommend it to anyone who eats a lot of rice!

Eunhuine Haejangguk contains seonji (congealed beef blood), but you can order it without seonji or dadegi (spicy seasoning). Uncooked takeaway is available too, so if dining in is difficult, I recommend taking it home!

They also run a receipt-review event, so join in and get a freebie! We got drinks, haha.

Our hangover soup and small dombe meat order

Ta-da—the food is set out! It came out so quickly, which was great for having a speedy meal during a busy lunch hour. We ordered hangover soup and a small dombe meat.

I ordered the dombe meat because it’s Jeju-style meat sliced on a wooden board, just as its name suggests.

With its tender texture and clean flavor, it works as both a rice-stealing side and a drinking snack all at once. The small portion was just the right amount for two people!

It’s hangover soup that really does the job—they say it uses a rich beef-bone broth simmered for 24 hours!

Hangover soup with ugeoji and bean sprouts

Haenam ugeoji (dried cabbage leaves), fresh bean sprouts, and tender meat with no gamey smell—what a perfect combination... haha. Even I, someone who doesn’t like hangover soup, fell completely for Jeju Eunhuine Haejangguk, a great spot in Suwon’s Ingye-dong.

The dombe meat is so wonderfully chewy and delicious, so I really hope you order it as a side.... haha.
