All-you-can-eat eel with parents in Yuseong, Daejeon: Songrimbok

A Yuseong-gu, Daejeon eel spot in Jijok-dong with all-you-can-eat freshwater eel: Songrimbok Jangeo.

I went to Songrimbok in Jijok-dong, one of the Yuseong-gu, Daejeon restaurants where you can enjoy freshwater eel all-you-can-eat. Because it's unlimited, I could eat as much eel as I wanted, and I also got to try chicken neck meat alongside it. Here's an honest review of the menu, taste, and prices I tried myself~

Exterior and location — how to find it

Songrimbok Daejeon is located in Jijok-dong, Yuseong-gu, near Goraedeul Intersection, so it wasn't hard to find. It's also within reach of Banseok Station, so public transit works fine too. The storefront has a big sign, so I could find it easily even on my first visit.

Interior atmosphere and size

Once inside, the place was bigger than I expected. There were plenty of tables, so it looked great not just for family meals but for group gatherings or company dinners too. Baby chairs were also on hand, so it's a fine spot to bring young kids~

The all-you-can-eat deal runs for 2 hours. There were instructions on how to grill the eel well, which was handy to reference while cooking. Also, the eel is worked fresh at dawn every day at their direct market, so the quality was pretty good.

Every table came with its own plate, paper cup, utensils, and grill pan already set up~

The basic side dishes included ginger, aged kimchi, perilla leaf sauce, and more — plenty of variety to suit your taste.

And they gave us bokbunja wine as a free service?! It went great sipped alongside the eel.

The owner personally grilled the first batch for us~ And best of all, it wasn't a frozen-then-thawed product.

For any side dishes running low, you can use the self-bar. You can also grab more eel and chicken neck meat from the self-bar. It had covers for hygiene, which I liked!

Honestly, since it's an all-you-can-eat place, I didn't expect much quality — but wow, it was actually really good! At ₩29,900 for adults plus a ₩3,000 table fee, the price was on the affordable side too.

The thickness was just right, so the texture was good too. The grill pan cooked well without burning anything!

Dipped in the sauce, it's sweet-and-salty and delicious, and it's fun mixing different ingredients into a lettuce wrap!

There was no odor, and it was chewy yet tender — a good texture overall. I visited with my parents, and both of them said it was delicious ^0^ It's a good Yuseong-gu restaurant to visit with your parents too.

How was the chicken neck meat?

I also grilled the chicken neck meat on the side. It had a chewy texture and was seasoned just right, so it was tasty even without dipping it in sauce. It had a salty-sweet flavor, so it was great to enjoy in between bites of eel.
