Nowon sushi buffet birthday family meal with crab soup and kids' café: Kuu Kuu

For my family's birthday get-together, I was trying to figure out where to go and heard I could even enjoy raw salmon sashimi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, a family gathering favorite in Nowon. Conclusion: I highly, highly recommend this place! I want to come back again.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch: parking, corkage, and dining time

• Parking: Paid parking available, first 120 minutes free, ₩4,000 per additional 30 minutes, max ₩80,000
• Corkage: Allowed (except alcohol sold in-store), ₩10,000 per bottle for wine, whisky, sake, and traditional liquor, no limit on bottles
• Standard dining time: 2 hours, or 1 hour 30 minutes if there are waiting guests

A spacious 300-pyeong space with group rooms

It's a comfortable space in natural wood and white tones. The space is over 300 pyeong, so spacious and pleasant that I ended up staying much longer than planned, totally relaxed. Independent spaces for 50, 80, even up to 300 people are available, almost like renting the whole venue. Rooms hold 40–60 people, and hall seating goes from 14 up to 200.

The raw salmon sashimi is Norwegian raw salmon, something not even available at the Kuu Kuu Gold branch — and it's offered on weekday dinners and weekends/holidays, which was such a nice surprise!!

Sushi, smoked duck, and lamb chops

The sushi menu was also super fresh and delicious, so I got to enjoy a wide variety of tasty dishes. There's a new smoked duck item, available for weekday dinner and holiday menus. There's also a new lamb chop dish — tender, full of that distinctive lamb flavor, and available all day.

The halibut and salmon sushi have been upgraded — the fish size has been increased so the halibut and salmon fully cover the rice now. The shrimp sushi got an upgrade too, using peony shrimp for a richer shrimp flavor. Marble ice cream is available even at lunch. My kid loved it and went back for more several times.

Unlimited draft beer and salad

Unlimited draft beer, free. Not Filite — apparently it's Terra and Kelly that come free. With a review, they say you get unlimited draft beer worth ₩5,900. The salad section also had a variety of dressings, and eating it before the meal was really nice.

Crab soup, refilled again and again

There's samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and crab soup too, and I especially loved the crab soup — I went back for refills several times.

Jjajang, jjamppong, udon, miso soup, and cold soba — if you ask, they'll make these fresh for you on the spot!!

There's also a huge variety of herbal teas.

Pasta, pizza, and chicken dishes were also well prepared in variety, and we enjoyed them all.

The chocolate fountain the kids loved most

There's a chocolate fountain too, so dipping crackers and marshmallows in it made it an instant hit with the kids.

Kind and attentive service

The staff at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, the strongest restaurant in Nowon-gu, greeted us with bright smiles and looked after us with attentive service. They also have a solid same-day reservation system for customer convenience, so we could visit without waiting. I booked ahead through Naver Reservations myself.

Reasonable prices and great value

The prices at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, the strongest restaurant in Nowon-gu, were very reasonable. The weekday lunch service in particular offers a wide range of dishes at an even lower price, which is why it's so popular. The satisfaction-to-price ratio is high, so there are many regular customers.

I brought back a plate of raw salmon sashimi and enjoyed it thoroughly. Being able to properly enjoy such fresh salmon sashimi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, a Nowon family gathering favorite, made me so happy.

A kids' café after the meal

There's also a kids' café on site, so after eating, the children played happily and made some good memories. They ended up playing here for quite a while.

There are now 4 flavors of marble ice cream, so you can enjoy each one. It was an especially popular item with the kids.
