Nowon sushi buffet with halibut engawa and sashimi: Kuu Kuu

My family is more into fish than meat, haha. When we eat out, we usually go for sashimi and sushi, and recently we wanted to eat delicious sushi until we were absolutely stuffed! So we visited Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch. It had been a while, and there were so many dishes—above all, the quality was incredible. We ate so well that I have to recommend it as a great Nowon spot for family gatherings!

It is close to Exit 2 of Hagye Station, with two hours of free parking in the building. There was also someone guiding cars, so parking was easy.

We visited with a Naver reservation, so we could go straight in without waiting.

The top reason I want to recommend this for a Nowon family gathering is the huge variety and high quality of the food, but I was even happier with how spacious the restaurant was and how many table seats it had. It is so roomy that even a group of more than 10 can sit down and eat comfortably—how could I not recommend it?

Halibut engawa sushi and sashimi

What I looked forward to most at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch was, of course, the sushi and sashimi! It would not be an exaggeration to say we came for the sushi buffet, haha.

I have kid-like tastes, so I love California rolls too. There were so many kinds here, and they were all delicious, so I went after fasting all day. I wanted to eat lots, lol.

And the sushi—need I say more? It felt like there were even more varieties than when I visited before. From my favorite salmon to tuna, shrimp, and beef, all kinds of sushi pleased both my eyes and my mouth. The salmon was obviously good that day, but halibut engawa sushi kept coming out! It was the kind of high quality you get at a pricey sushi restaurant, so you can imagine how happy I was.. ♥

Just look at that salmon and tuna sashimi. It did not only look good—it was genuinely high quality, so this salmon lover practically ate it in tears.. It was that deliciousㅠㅠ The soy-marinated shrimp, soy-marinated crab, and mulhoe (cold raw-fish soup) were also more than enough to get my appetite going.

Every kind of salad and Korean dish, too

I love salads too. So whenever I go to a buffet that is great for a Nowon family gathering, I make sure to try every kind of salad.

There were lots of salads, including salmon, kabocha squash, Cajun chicken, and jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles), and every one was fresh and delicious. I felt healthier somehow!

There were also many Korean dishes, including cockle bibimbap, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), and kimchi. Why are they so good at Korean food here too..?

Hot dishes you have to eat even when full

It is not only the sushi at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch that is delicious. There were so many hot dishes, including BBQ, and they were all so good!! Smoked duck, chicken, pork ribs, lamb chops, and LA galbi.

Cream pasta, oil pasta, grilled dishes, fried foods—everything was delicious, so no matter how full you are, you have to try one of each!

And what are the signature autumn dishes? Steamed blue crab, shrimp, and oysters, of course. They had them all here.. The steamed blue crab, steamed shrimp, and steamed rock oysters were enough to make any seafood lover happy. Worth recommending for a Nowon family gathering, right?

There were also three kinds of pizza, which the kids seemed to love.

They also make noodle dishes to order, including jajangmyeon, jjamppong, udon, and cold soba!

The Chinese-style dishes were my favorite among the hot foods. The chili shrimp, mala shrimp, cream shrimp, and guobaorou were not just fancy-sounding menu items—they were all seriously tasty.

There were even more refined Chinese-style dishes to try, such as steamed clams, pepper-and-pork stir-fry with flower buns, and dongpo pork.

From drinks to desserts and fruit

There were lots of drink options too! Soda, juice, slushies, herbal tea, coffee—there was nothing missing~

There were lots of desserts as well, but the chocolate fountain and made-to-order waffles that kids love were especially popular.

Gelato ice cream and Dippin' Dots. I think they must use a genuinely premium gelato brand. It was so chewy and delicious—honestly, it could give the gelato I had in Europe a run for its money!?

The dessert corner was so popular that I could not take photos until we were about to leave, so I did not get pretty shotsㅠㅠ But there were three kinds of crêpe cake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, tarts, rice cakes, pudding, cream puffs—how could there be this many desserts, haha. And the quality was high too.. The crêpe cake was especially insanely good!!

There were so many kinds of fruit that you will probably be surprised when you see them in person. It was that impressive.

Yes, that is my first plate. I already liked Kuu Kuu, but if it is this high quality, I seriously want to go every dayㅠㅠ

I honestly want to go to this great Nowon family-gathering spot every day just for the salmon sushi and sashimi.

I had planned to focus only on sushi that day.. but there were so many dishes and every one was delicious, I felt like I was going to burst trying them all, haha. Be sure to go hungry!! You need to taste everything.

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has desserts and fruit that are just perfect too, and I wholeheartedly recommend it as a spot for a Nowon family gathering:)
