Maple cream latte and berry tiramisu date café in Suyeong, Busan

Today I want to introduce Café Buajang, a place I found while looking for a nice-vibe café in Gwangalli. There are so many pretty cafés in Gwangalli these days, but the moment I walked into this one, the atmosphere was so good I thought it'd be great for a date or a blind date. The space itself feels cozy yet emotional, so it's perfect for chatting over coffee and dessert. Café Buajang, now added to my personal favorites list of Gwangalli dessert cafés — let me show you around in detail~

Tucked in an alley, lit up at night

Café Buajang sits deep inside an alley full of residential houses near Millak the Market. It stands out so much against the surrounding vibe that you spot it the moment you turn into the alley.

In the evening, the pretty lights come on and you get a completely different mood from daytime.

Outdoor space — bright like a banquet hall

The interior was largely split into two areas, and since the mood of each space is a little different, it's fun to pick your seat depending on your taste.

The outdoor space first was decorated in a bright, luxurious mood, like stepping into a pretty wedding banquet hall.

Well-kept plants were placed here and there too,

giving the whole place a lush, relaxed feeling.

Next to the counter, I spotted a pretty storage cabinet filled with colorful yarn.

If you've ever knitted, you'd recognize the well-known yarn brands lined up there. It turns out the owner enjoys knitting as a hobby.

Knitted pieces made by the owner were displayed all around the café — each one so intricate and pretty that I couldn't help but be impressed looking around.

Among them, I was especially surprised to see a piece depicting the Bremen Town Musicians. Seeing the characters expressed in knitwork was really impressive.

I'd noticed the café had so many cute knick-knacks and knitted dolls — turns out it's all thanks to the owner's care and effort.

Oh! There was also lemon water set out near the entrance.

Indoor space — a fairytale-like wood tone

Now let me show you the indoor space too. The mood shifts completely from the front space — here it's decorated in warm wood tones, giving it a cozy feel like stepping into a fairytale.

Not just the tables and chairs, but wood pieces and knick-knacks were placed all over the walls too.

The place was full of that distinct warm, cozy feeling wood gives off.

I personally love this kind of space, so I fell for it the moment I saw it.

It seemed like the male owner had decorated this space himself — lumber was neatly stacked in one corner, and he was still working on the space during my visit. You could feel the owner's touch everywhere in the café, which made looking around all the more enjoyable.

The menu ranged from coffee to non-coffee drinks, ades, and teas.

There were also desserts to enjoy alongside the drinks,

gelato and tiramisu were both available, so it'd be easy to pick according to your taste.

Maple cream latte, strawberry cream latte, mint herb tea, and two kinds of tiramisu

I ordered the maple cream latte, strawberry cream latte, mint herb tea, and for dessert, coffee tiramisu and berry berry tiramisu.

The owner brought out the order — the drinks and desserts looked so pretty that my mood lifted the moment each one landed on the table.

First, the berry berry tiramisu I ordered for dessert was refreshing and sweet at once, good as a palate cleanser. Thanks to the tart berries, it wasn't heavy, and the added sweetness kept me reaching for another bite. It was so tasty to my taste that I'd want to order it again on my next visit.

The coffee tiramisu had a moist sponge layered with soft cream, sweet and pairing well with coffee. It'd go especially well with an iced Americano for a sweet-and-bitter combo.

I also tried the signature drink, the maple cream latte. A generous, sweet and soft cream was piled on top of the latte, so the first sip was sweet and nutty. I stirred the cream into the latte a little and drank it that way, and it was still smooth and delicious. Definitely worth recommending as their signature menu item.

Café Buajang was a place where I got to enjoy tasty drinks and desserts in a pretty space, and I left in a good mood. Everything I ordered was satisfying, so next time I'd like to try the other desserts and gelato too. The atmosphere of the space is great, so I'd recommend it as a Busan date café. In the evening, with the lights added, it has a different kind of charm. It's the kind of place I'd want to stop by every time I come to Gwangalli.
