Hamdeok Beach black pork restaurant for a night-sea dinner: Jeju Samchun
In short
Jeju Samchun is a black pork restaurant near Hamdeok Beach in Jeju, Jeju. After taking in the night sea, I ordered the 500g Joka Set for 50,000 won and enjoyed thick, juicy smoked black pork grilled by the staff, plus a generous complimentary kimchi jjigae for writing a Naver review. Verdict: a place I would happily revisit for a vacation-feeling black pork dinner in Hamdeok.

While my husband and I were traveling in Jeju, we went in with the goal of eating black pork every single day(?)! This time, we visited Jeju Samchun (제주삼춘), a popular spot by Hamdeok Beach on the east side of Jeju!

Black pork after the Hamdeok Beach night sea
There is an area near Hamdeok Beach where lots of accommodations are gathered, so it is very easy to get to if you are staying nearby. I came after looking at the night sea at Hamdeok Beach, as part of a black pork dinner course, and it really made me feel like I was traveling in Jeju 🥺

I visited on a weekday evening, but it is well known among locals and Jeju residents too, so I waited about 30 minutes before getting in. Even after dinner time had passed, there was still a wait, and I thought, this really is a Hamdeok Beach favorite!
The interior is modern, with an atmosphere that works nicely for a family gathering or for couples wanting to eat black pork somewhere with a good mood. Personally, I loved how clean it felt with its current, stylish decor haha.
Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Branch is certified by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province as a Jeju pork retailer. They say they low-temperature-age their high-quality black pork for 300 hours, then smoke it with grapevine smoking chips.
The Joka Set and review kimchi jjigae
Menu

The menu is divided into set menus and side dishes, and I ordered the Joka Set, 500g for ₩50,000! They give you kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) if you write a Naver review, and it was plentiful and delicious!! You absolutely have to try it 🙏🏻

This photo right here is the review kimchi jjigae ✨ It comes in such a huge portion haha. The quality would be perfectly worth paying for, so I cannot believe they give it to you just for a review—the owner is incredibly generous!

The banchan (Korean side dishes) included salted pollock roe, aged kimchi, roasted seaweed, pickled radish wraps, wonderfully delicious meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce), and seasonings for dipping the meat.

Scallion salad and seasoned cucumber also came as side dishes. Every single one was delicious. Personally, the scallion salad was seriously good!!
Smoked black pork grilled for you after the photos
The meat arrived already smoked, and the staff even gave us time specifically to take photos! I filmed a pretty video for my Instagram Story too haha. With the meat presented so beautifully, it really felt like I had come on a trip and was eating something delicious haha.

After the photos, the staff grilled the meat themselves. The quality of the meat matters, of course, but how it is grilled matters too. Since they do it for you, the quality stays intact and deliciousness is totally guaranteed 👍🏻

The staff explained the meat as they grilled it, and just waiting to eat the black pork had my mouth watering to the point of pain.

When I tried it, the meat itself was thick and juicy, with that rich, nutty flavor distinctive to black pork coming through so well. It was truly delicious.

In particular, the smoky aroma had subtly soaked into the meat, so Jeju Samchun's own black pork flavor really stood out.
