Pre-ordered sushi lunch box to pick up for a hotel meal: Jejju City

On this Jeju trip too, I was looking for somewhere to grab takeout and eat lightly at the hotel, and the reviews for Jejju City Hall Branch were good, so I stopped by.

When you're traveling around Jeju, there are moments mid-itinerary when you just need something simple to eat — this place is great for that!

We pre-ordered before visiting, and since it's located on the Jeju City side, it also seems like a good spot to swing by for takeout on the way from the airport to your hotel!

Jejju City Hall Branch, good for takeout in Jeju City

Jejju City Hall Branch was a cozy little spot near Jeju City Hall.

The store itself isn't big, but when we visited we saw locals coming in for meals, and there was a good variety of menu options that work well for eating alone too.

There are several lunch box options in particular, so it looked good not just for eating in-store but also for taking out to a hotel or accommodation. I even saw some people eating theirs at a nearby beach for the vibes 🫢

Since takeout and delivery are both available, this seems like a good option for days when spending a long time at a restaurant feels like a hassle during a Jeju trip, or for trips with kids or larger groups!

Since we had a reservation, the food was ready right away when we arrived. Time is gold when you're traveling, right? Being able to just pick up and go saved us time, which was great.

Jeju in particular has a lot of places to move between in one day, so a simple takeout meal is quietly very useful.

How was the premium sushi lunch box put together?

We started with the sushi lunch box, and the lineup was more solid than I expected!

It wasn't just one or two types of sushi — there were several kinds, so it was fun picking through them one by one, and the box alone was more than enough for a full meal.

It wasn't just sushi either — soup came with it too, and eating it alongside the warm broth was more filling than I expected.

I ordered it just wanting something simple during the trip, but given the price, the amount of food was satisfying! Especially since eating out near tourist spots in Jeju can feel pricey sometimes, this felt like a great-value meal you could enjoy without any guilt.

Was the extra 3pc raw shrimp sushi worth it?

I love shrimp sushi so much that I almost just ordered the lunch box alone, but I added the 3pc raw shrimp sushi!

Since it's sushi topped with raw shrimp, you could really feel the springy texture, and it was clean with no fishy taste at all, so I enjoyed it a lot. Maybe because it was sushi in Jeju, it felt extra fresh, and the value for money felt really good!

If you like shrimp, I'd recommend adding it to your lunch box.

Final thoughts

When you're touring around Jeju all day, there are moments when it's hard to spend much time on meals. For those times, if you're looking for something to eat comfortably back at your accommodation via takeout or delivery, or a simple meal to have in the car mid-itinerary, Jejju City Hall Branch is a solid choice!

Being on the Jeju City side in particular made it easy to fit into an itinerary heading to Dongmun Market or the airport, and I liked that there were several lunch box options to choose from depending on your taste.

There are menu items that work fine for solo dining without feeling awkward, and if you're traveling in a group, it seems great for everyone to grab what they want to eat and take it along.

Like us, if you've already tried all kinds of delicious food in Jeju but want a day when you simply want sushi for a meal, and you're looking for somewhere to grab it comfortably to go, this is a good spot!
