Sushi restaurant near Gyeongbokgung with a kids' set: Elephant Sushi
In short
Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun is a Japanese sushi restaurant on the basement level of KT Tower, connected to Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station in Jongno, Seoul. Before an appointment near Gyeongbokgung Palace, the writer ordered the Elephant Sushi B Set for 28,000 won plus a separate Elephant Kids' Sushi for 12,000 won, and the baby chairs and bar seats let the child and the adults eat their own sushi. Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun works as a family meal out where you don't have to order a different dish just for a child.

This is Naringlog, on a Seoul food tour ✌️ I had an appointment near Gyeongbokgung Palace that day, so while looking for good restaurants nearby I found Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun and went for it ‼️

It's so close to Gyeongbokgung and inside a building, so even though it was my first time going, it was really easy to find! The building is across from the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. It's located in the basement of the KT Tower, which connects to Gwanghwamun Exit 2.

A roomy dining room with baby chairs and bar seats
The first thing that caught my eye when I walked in was how spacious the place was ‼️

Baby chairs are ready too.

There are lots of table seats, so the whole place feels relaxed. There's also bar seating for solo diners!

Broth and salad are served. Before eating, I warmed up my stomach with the hot broth haha.

Pickled radish and soy sauce are set at every table.

What we ordered: the Elephant Sushi B Set, 28,000 won
At Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun we ordered the Elephant Sushi B Set for ₩28,000 and the Elephant Kids' Sushi for ₩12,000. The photos show only some of the menu — there's more on the menu when you visit, so keep that in mind.
The variety is rich, and apparently all the fresh fish is aged at low temperature using traditional sushi methods! Because they adjust the salt amount and aging time differently by fish species, you get sushi quality that's hard to find at this price point — top value 👍🏻

How did the B Set sushi taste?
Each piece of sushi had a generous, thick cut of fish! It's disappointing when sashimi is cut too thin, but here the seafood's texture really came through 😋
I dipped it only lightly in soy sauce to taste the fish itself — it was so fresh and delicious 😍 The fresh fish had zero fishy taste at all ‼️

You could feel that this place carries the quality and know-how of high-end traditional sushi while still being affordable — a real value-for-money sushi spot 😋😋

The cold soba was refreshing, and the broth being not too strong was actually a plus — satisfying because it didn't overpower the flavor of the sashimi!

The sushi wasn't just one type of fish either — it was made up of a variety of fish and seafood, so it was fun trying each piece one by one, and each one had a different flavor to savor. So, so good 😊

Why it works with kids: Elephant Kids' Sushi, 12,000 won
Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun has the Elephant Kids' Sushi as a separate menu item for ₩12,000. One of the things I loved was that there's a dedicated kids' sushi menu! It made dining with my child so much easier.

The set with egg sushi, fried tofu sushi, and shrimp sushi — a lineup that kids can eat comfortably — was so great 👶🏻💚 I was especially happy that I didn't have to order something separate just because my kid was there ‼️

My kid was very satisfied throughout the meal, having their own sushi plus their own cold soba haha. My child was so happy with the meal 👍🏻
The verdict on Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun
Overall, I loved the mix of many different kinds of fish and seafood ☝️ From the accessible location to the atmosphere and menu lineup, everything was satisfying and made for a comfortable meal. A place you don't need to worry about when picking a spot for a family meal out ☝️
If you're like me and looking for a place that's easy to find on your first visit, convenient for moving on to your next plan, and a sushi restaurant where kids and adults can eat together, give it a try!
