Seogwipo ocean-view café with Hallabong cake: Forest Jeongbang

While traveling around Jeju, I visited Forest Jeongbang (포레스트 정방) when I was looking for a café where I could relax while looking out at the sea. It is near Jeongbang Waterfall, so the location was convenient for stopping by after sightseeing.

Is it convenient to park and take a break near Jeongbang Waterfall?

The address is 9 Chilship-ri-ro 214beon-gil, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, and the café occupies the first and second floors. It uses the entire building, so it was larger than I expected.

The café was spacious, with plenty of seating. The air conditioning was pleasantly cool when I visited, making it a good place to rest and cool down after sweating outside.

There was a large parking area behind the café. It was fairly convenient to stop by while traveling around Jeju by car.

What drinks and desserts does the café sell?

The recommended menu included Udo peanut latte, Jeongbang Waterfall latte, lemonade, and Udo peanut rice cake.

They also sold sandwiches and chocolate cake. It looked like a reasonable place to choose a light meal or snack with a drink.

At the time of my visit, a notice said that customers who spent at least ₩20,000 could enter a review-draw event. The first prize was described as a premium hairtail gift set worth ₩150,000.

What can you see from the second floor?

We went upstairs to the second floor and chose a seat. We could look out at the sea while sitting comfortably, so it was a nice place to take a short break during the trip.

The weather was good on the day I visited, and luckily I could also see a rainbow outside the window. I ended up watching the scenery for quite a while as I drank my coffee and looked at the sea and rainbow.

How were the drinks and cake I ordered?

I ordered an iced Americano, freshly pressed Jeju Hallabong juice, and Hallabong yogurt cake.

The freshly pressed Jeju Hallabong juice had the fruit’s characteristic tartness and sweetness. It was refreshing to drink chilled on a hot day.

The iced Americano had a slight acidity. It was clean and easy to drink.

The Hallabong yogurt cake contained yogurt cream, so it felt less heavy than a cake made with regular whipped cream.

There were two large pieces of Hallabong inside the cake. The fruit’s tartness balanced the sweet cake, making it good to eat with coffee.

What kind of travel itinerary suits this café?

It was a good place to stop when I wanted to relax with a sea view after exploring the area around Jeongbang Waterfall. I liked the spacious seating and parking area, and enjoyed having drinks and cake while looking at the scenery from the second floor.
