Yeonsu seafood restaurant for sweet raw shrimp: Veteran Fish Market

Not long ago, I had the raw shrimp sashimi at the Guwol branch in Incheon and it was seriously so good. The shrimp were so delicious that I kept thinking about them afterward!! Then, while I was hanging out near Yeonsu-dong, Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch was right in front of me!!!! It was the same place, so I went straight in without a second thought. You simply cannot resist raw shrimp season, right?!

A spacious, comfortable seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-dong

The restaurant was spacious and clean, so it looked great for a family meal, company dinner, or gathering. The tables were nicely spread out too, so we could enjoy sashimi in a comfortable atmosphere overall. The staff were especially kind, which put me in an even better mood!

No hesitation: we ordered the small raw shrimp sashimi + fried-head set! And a bonus bottle of soju too~~

What is there even to say about the side dishes? Delicious as always!!! The reason this has to become a standout seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-dong is that they have baekgimchi (mild white kimchi) and myeongnan (seasoned pollock roe). Seafood restaurants that serve baekgimchi are surprisingly rare, you know? This place really is the real deal.

You can pick up any side dishes you run low on yourself, and there are extra options too, so just take whatever suits your taste! Having all those sides ready for you to help yourself to is so convenient—this place is just unbelievably thoughtful..

I can't believe a seafood restaurant's kimchi pancake is this good

And the kimchi-jeon (kimchi pancake)!! My friend cooked it this time, and it was seriously delicious. The kimchi pancake was so good from the start that we got greedy and cooked way too much, hahaha. A seafood restaurant with amazing kimchi pancake? This is it—one of Yeonsu Station's best seafood spots.

We poured as much soy sauce and chojang (sweet-tangy red dipping sauce) as we needed~

This is truly a seafood restaurant with incredible value.. Corn cheese and grilled fish as side dishes?! Of course the drinks just keep going down with a spread like this, right? No wonder it is so popular!!

This was insane.. Our raw shrimp arrived. Even now, I want to eat it again at this very moment... I still cannot forget that bouncy texture and the natural sweetness that came through more and more as I chewed. It was truly delicious ㅠㅠㅠ Please, really do come to this great seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-dong. There was absolutely no fishiness; the shrimp were so fresh that their naturally sweet flavor came through beautifully.

You cannot have raw shrimp sashimi without ordering soju, right.. My friend and I treasured every single bite of shrimp, hahaha. Is this even real??!! It is!!!! So delicious. It had been a while since I had treated food this preciously—yep, that person was me.

Seriously.. we ate while repeating over and over that we were so glad we came.

Trending sauces and crispy fried shrimp heads

And this is such a thoughtful touch from a great seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-gu..!!!! They even had those sauces that are trending right now... The owner has such great taste—someone who clearly knows what they are doing.. If you give us this much so generously, do you have anything left?!

They fry the shrimp heads until crispy too, and they are savory and so delicious.. The rich shrimp innard flavor in the heads, plus that crisp texture, makes them seriously good.. This is a must-order~

The shrimp are honestly.. ridiculously tasty.. I think I will be back for raw shrimp again soon. Best seafood restaurant in Yeonsu-dong. They are good with baekgimchi, good with pollock roe, good with flying-fish roe and sauce, good dipped in chojang—and since the raw shrimp themselves are delicious, they are good however you eat them, hahaha. I have not seen anywhere with value this good..

I came to the Yeonsu branch because I had such a delicious memory of the Guwol branch, and once again, I did not make the wrong choice.. Everything was truly delicious. The bouncy, sweet raw shrimp sashimi was just as satisfying, and the savory fried shrimp heads made for a perfect finish!!
