Yeonnam-dong café with early hours and cheesecake: Noknok
In short
Noknok is a two-floor café in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul, open early in the morning until late at night. I settled into its spacious sofas and bar tables with nutty Americanos and a rich Basque cheesecake, while the second floor welcomed dogs. Verdict: Noknok is an easy pick for an affordable date or study session.

Today, I’m introducing Noknok (녹녹), a Yeonnam-dong café with a lovely atmosphere.
A spacious Yeonnam-dong café open from morning until late
Noknok in Yeonnam-dong opens early and stays open late, so it’s a great café for anyone looking for somewhere to go first thing in the morning or until late! It’s also a large café, so groups can visit, and the atmosphere is great for both studying and dates!
- A 4-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station
- Daily 08:30–23:30
- Second floor: Sun–Thu 08:30–21:00; on other days, the same hours as the first floor
- Parking is available for in-store guests only. Parking in front of the café and parking for takeout are not allowed.

Out front, you can see Noknok and a notice saying parking is not allowed there. Café Noknok is split across the first and second floors.
Spacious first-floor sofas and bar tables

✔️ Right in the middle of the first floor was a spacious large seating area. There was a big sofa, so a large group could all sit together, and it was roomy enough that even having strangers seated next to you would probably be fine.

The dark-toned mood and oversized framed artwork went together beautifully. Since the café is spacious, it seemed like you could chat comfortably with friends without feeling crowded. If you come alone to study, the bar tables would be nice too.
A warm, dog-friendly second floor

✔️ Next to the first-floor counter, you’ll see an automatic door. Go through it and you’ll find the stairs to the second floor. You head upstairs past a fabulous cactus.
✔️ The second floor allows dogs. You can use it as long as you follow proper pet etiquette. ✔️ The second floor has slightly different hours: Sun–Thu, 08:30–21:00! Please keep that in mind.
The second floor had a different feel from the first. It allows dogs, but perhaps because it was early morning, there weren’t any dogs there. The second floor felt warmer than the first, and it had more people too.

This floor was spacious too, with bar tables and lots of people studying. Both floors have their own charm, so choose a seat that suits your taste.
The restrooms were by the stairs on both floors. The women’s restroom was on the first floor and the men’s restroom was on the second.
Drinks under ₩5,000 and breads that come out later
✔️ Noknok is well known as a great-value spot in Yeonnam-dong. The drink prices feel out of step with today’s prices! That’s why I want to recommend it even more. At these prices in Yeonnam-dong???

✔️ Other than a few signature drinks and fruit lattes, nothing costs more than ₩5,000! This is also a café known for its bread. There were breads beside the ordering area. We visited early in the morning, so not much bread was out yet, but when we came downstairs after sitting and chatting, the breads were starting to come out.

✔️ From sandwiches for a meal to cookies, and even chewy milk bread!!! I heard the chewy milk bread is delicious, but it was said to come out around noon, so I couldn’t order it.ㅠㅠ These breads really had my mouth watering!

Ordering Americanos and Basque cheesecake
We ordered an Americano ₩3,800, a decaf Americano ₩4,300, and a Basque cheesecake ₩7,900.
✔️ I wanted to try the signature Nox Coffee, but I heard it is similar to dabang coffee, a sweet instant-style coffee. Since we were having cake, I ordered an Americano instead. Next time, I’m planning to try the Nox Coffee!

With a nutty~ Americano and a rich~ Basque cheesecake, then a generous dip into the cream it comes with—this place is truly heaven! I love Basque cheesecake~~~
