Quiet baby-friendly coffee shop in Mapo, Seoul: Ieo Coffee Roasters

A quiet café tucked into an alley by Gyeongui Line Forest Park

While I was in Gongdeok looking for a café where I could take a little break with my baby, I visited Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, tucked among the lanes by Gyeongui Line Forest Park. :)

There are so many cafés around Gyeongui Line Forest Park, but rather than somewhere bustling with people, I was looking for a place where I could stay a little more quietly and leisurely. Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a roastery café you find once you head into an alley near the park between Gongdeok and Daeheung.

The address is 1F, 9 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul! Unlike the big cafés on the main road, it sits on a quiet side street, so I could feel its peaceful atmosphere even before walking in.

It is a nice spot to pop into for coffee while walking Gyeongui Line Forest Park, or for dessert after a meal around Gongdeok or Daeheung!! When I stepped inside, it was much quieter and more relaxing than I had expected, which I loved haha.

A calm space where I could relax with my baby

Pretty, flashy cafés are lovely too, but when I am out and about with my baby, it is hard to sit for long in somewhere too noisy and hectic.ㅠㅠ Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch felt calm and cozy, so it was great for taking a little breather over coffee haha.

The natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows suited the warmly toned space so well. It would be nice to come alone for coffee or a book, and it also felt right for two people having a quiet chat haha. Best of all, the owner was so kind. :) When you visit with a baby, there are lots of little things to think about from the moment you order, so I really appreciated the relaxed, thoughtful service haha.

An iced Americano with my choice of beans

Ieo Coffee Roasters roasts its own beans, so I hear it is well known among coffee lovers too. You can choose your beans for an Americano depending on your taste; options include the nutty Winsome Blend and Bami Breeze, with floral and berry-like notes!!

I wanted something refreshing that day, so I ordered an iced Americano. One sip in, it was clean and easy to drink, and it paired even better with the cheesecake haha.

Mango-orange juice and Basque cheesecake

Coffee on its own is nice, but an Americano really needs a sweet dessert alongside it, right? Haha. For a drink to share with my baby, I chose mango-orange juice. When I take my baby to a café, I always check whether there is a drink we can enjoy together besides coffee. The sweet, tangy mango-and-orange combination was delicious for me too, and lovely to enjoy with my baby. :)

If you do not drink coffee or are visiting with a child, choosing a fruit drink like this could be a nice option.

With an iced Americano and mango-orange juice side by side, my drink and my baby's drink were properly sorted haha. For dessert, I ordered the Basque cheesecake.

Along with coffee, Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch has desserts such as cookies and cake that go well with it, making it a great place for a simple dessert time.

The cheesecake I chose looked dense and rich even before I tasted it, so I had high expectations. When I tried it, it had that rich, smooth cheesy flavor, and it was such a good match for the iced Americano. ♥

A bite of cheesecake followed by a sip of cool Americano gave me alternating sweetness and the coffee's pleasant bitterness, so I kept reaching for more haha. Rather than rushing through it, I savored it slowly with coffee in the quiet space, and thought, this must be what an unhurried afternoon feels like. :)

A lovely place to rest after a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk

Because I was there with my baby that day, I was a little worried whether we would be able to stay at the café for long. But the whole place was so quiet and comfortable that we spent more leisurely time there than I expected. The owner was kind, and with coffee, juice, and dessert all available, I was very happy with the visit too.

You know those days when, after walking around Gyeongui Line Forest Park, you want to rest somewhere a little quieter instead of hurriedly drinking coffee in a crowded café? Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch feels like the kind of place that would come to mind then. Perhaps because it is just off the main road in a small alley, it suits the relaxed atmosphere that is so characteristic of the area around the park. I loved being able to try coffee roasted in-house, but what stayed with me most that day was the feeling of the space itself.

It was not loud or bustling, just calm, so I could take a little break while slowly enjoying my iced Americano and cheesecake. The mango-orange juice I shared with my baby was delicious too, and the owner was so kind that we left feeling happy haha.
