Gopchang takeaway near Misa Station, Hanam: Gobuni Gopchang

Gobuni Gopchang was somewhere I used to go for a meal from time to time even before getting married. I have always liked vegetable gopchang, so I would visit whenever I craved it, but I had not had it for a while after getting married. So, after a long time, I picked some up from Gobuni Gopchang Hanam Misa Station Branch (곱분이곱창 하남미사역점).

This time, rather than eating at the restaurant, I picked it up and enjoyed it comfortably at home. Even after all this time, it was still exactly the flavor I liked, haha. I got both vegetable gopchang and al gopchang and had a really generous meal.

Exterior

Gobuni Gopchang Hanam Misa Station Branch is on the first floor of Star Park on Misagangbyeonnam-ro. It is also fairly close to Misa Station, making it a decent spot to reach by public transportation.

When I arrived outside, Gobuni Gopchang's distinctive sign immediately caught my eye, even from a distance. Maybe because I had eaten here from time to time in the past, I was oddly happy to see the sign right away, haha. This time, I decided not to eat in and simply pick up my pre-ordered food to enjoy at home!

Inside

Inside, it had that familiar gopchang restaurant atmosphere. It is a nice place to sit comfortably and have gopchang with a drink.

Gobuni Gopchang offers takeaway and delivery as well as dine-in service, so it is also handy when, like us, you want to eat comfortably at home.

The vegetable gopchang and al gopchang I ordered

Vegetable gopchang is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Gobuni Gopchang, but the menu had more variety than I expected. Along with vegetable gopchang and al gopchang, there were items such as chicken feet and charcoal-grilled gopchang, which they say can only be tasted at Gobuni Gopchang.

There was also a grilled mixed platter with gopchang, makchang (beef abomasum), and odolppyeo (crunchy pork cartilage), which I would like to try next time, haha. And if you order by phone and collect it in person, you can get ₩2,000 off, so it may be a good idea to call ahead if you are planning takeaway.

Along with the takeaway dishes, they packed pickled radish wraps, corn mayonnaise, chili peppers, garlic, chojang (sweet-and-tangy chili dipping sauce), mayonnaise, and perilla leaves. Vegetable gopchang is delicious on its own, but I liked having all these different things to eat alongside it.

It was nice to wrap the gopchang in a perilla leaf with garlic or chili pepper, and adding a pickled radish wrap now and then gave it a different feel. The corn mayonnaise was also an easy side to pick at between bites.

As soon as I got home, I laid out the gopchang I had picked up. I ordered one serving each of vegetable gopchang and al gopchang, and the two dishes together made for a generous meal at home.

These were the Gobuni Gopchang vegetable gopchang and al gopchang I had always liked. I was going to order only vegetable gopchang, but I wanted a more generous helping of gopchang, so I ordered al gopchang too. The vegetable gopchang, stir-fried on a griddle, is said to be one of Gobuni Gopchang's popular dishes.

Eating it again after a long time reminded me of the times I used to have it often, and it made me think that vegetable gopchang really is best when you pick up a bit of everything together, haha.

Ordering al gopchang too gave us a good amount of gopchang, and although the vegetable gopchang was only one serving, it was packed with vegetables and dangmyeon (glass noodles), so it was filling for the two of us. We added the included sides, such as perilla leaves and pickled radish wraps, however we liked.

It was especially nice because it had been so long since I had Gobuni Gopchang, but I was satisfied because even while eating comfortably at home, it felt like I had properly had gopchang!

Final thoughts on eating vegetable gopchang and al gopchang together

Gobuni Gopchang is somewhere I had eaten from time to time in the past. I tried it as takeaway from the Hanam Misa Station Branch after a long time, and it was nice to revisit a place I had liked before.

This time, I ordered one serving each of vegetable gopchang and al gopchang, and I was happy to enjoy both together. They also packed the sides well—from pickled radish wraps to perilla leaves, garlic, and chili peppers—so it made for an easy, comfortable meal at home.

Best of all, takeaway and delivery are available, so it is easy to enjoy even on days when getting to the restaurant is difficult. Next time, I would like to try the grilled mixed platter or the charcoal-grilled gopchang I was curious about.

Having it again after a long time brought back memories of the times I used to eat it often, and reminded me that this really is a vegetable gopchang place I like. It is somewhere I think I will remember when looking for gopchang near Misa Station. I had a delicious, comfortable meal at home.
