Anseong café: reheating salt bread in the upstairs oven at Chat Baker

Today I visited Chat Baker, a spot near Anseong Farm Land where you can enjoy everything from brunch to bakery items. If you're looking for a place to grab a meal and coffee after a day out at Farm Land, this is a good one to check out. I stopped by myself and tried some tasty bread and drinks.

🚙 Parking info! There's a parking area right in front of the store. Since it sits next to the outlet mall, the lot felt fairly spacious, and staff apparently help direct parking when it gets crowded. So there was no real hassle visiting by car. Above all, if you're looking for a large café in Pyeongtaek or Anseong, this place is worth a look — the scale is impressive.

What is the café like inside, and what seating is there?

🏠 Inside the store. The moment I walked in, the high ceilings and grand entrance caught my eye. The overall space was so open that it never felt cramped — cool and airy throughout.

🪑 The first floor mainly has 4-top tables along with various other seats, and there's sofa seating right at the front. Especially neat was the floor-to-ceiling window area, where water was flowing down from above, creating a unique atmosphere. Thanks to that vibe, it felt less like a spot for a quick coffee and more like a place worth lingering in.

Going up to the second floor, there were even more varied seats waiting. There were single seats good for solo visits, plus tables that could fit 5–6 people together. With 2-, 4-, and 6-tops all available, it seemed suited to friends, couples, or families alike. Given the wide space and variety of seating, I could see why this place fits the bill for anyone searching for a large café in Pyeongtaek or Anseong.

What is on the menu?

📋 Now let's get into the menu! Chat Baker is a café that also serves brunch, with pasta, risotto, gnocchi, appetizers, salads and more on offer. For anyone looking for a brunch café in Gongdo, Anseong, it's a nice point that you can enjoy proper meals here, not just bread.

There was also seasonal fresh-fruit bingsu (shaved ice dessert), great for summer, and the drink lineup was just as varied — coffee, ades, juices and smoothies, teas, and non-coffee drinks.

On one side of the café, a whole lineup of baked goods was on display. There were more bread varieties than I expected, so I spent a while deciding what to pick haha 😂

Next to the counter, there was also a variety of handmade cakes. From bread to cakes to brunch and drinks, you can enjoy it all in one place, which made picking the menu genuinely fun.

This is what we ordered! The reason I ordered three salt breads was actually a friend's recommendation — they strongly urged me to make sure I tried the salt bread if I visited Chat Baker haha 😆 So, curious, I ordered plenty of it.

🍰 Fig cake

First up, the fig cake. The combination of sweet cream and fig was great, and the sponge was a light castella that nicely supported the fig-and-cream flavor without overpowering it. It wasn't too heavy, so it went well with coffee.

🍅 Tomato cheese basil hotteok

Next was the slightly unusual tomato cheese basil hotteok (savory pancake). The cheese was pressed and grilled properly, giving it a nutty flavor, and combined with the fragrant basil and tomato, the pairing worked well. It felt quite different from the hotteok I'm used to, so if you're after something different, it's worth a try.
