Dongnae sushi restaurant with sashimi platters: Moshi Moshi Sushi

Today, I visited Moshi Moshi Sushi, a great sushi spot near Dongnae Station in Busan, where the fresh sushi and chewy udon are incredible~ It is in the dining area at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch, and the upscale, tidy interior, food, and service are all so well looked after~

Every piece of sushi was so fresh, and the tempura and chewy udon served on the side were delicious too. The assorted sashimi also looked great quality, so I had really wanted to go and finally did~

Moshi Moshi Sushi has been loved steadily while operating its Busan National University branch for 15 years, its Gwangbok branch for 7 years, and its Dongnae branch for 3 years.

The address is 1393 Jungang-daero, Dongnae-gu, Busan, on the eighth-floor dining level of Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch. Hours are 10:30–20:30, with last orders at 20:00. It is closed on department store closing days. Use the department store parking lot; parking support is available.

A quiet dining space inside the department store

Since it is inside a department store, the interior is not especially elaborate or pretty, but the tables and chairs seemed to have a neat design that suits a Japanese restaurant. As you would expect from a hygiene-certified restaurant, it is very clean~

Even though Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae Branch is in a department store, it has a separate private space farther inside. You can eat in a quiet, cozy atmosphere, so it would be great for a family gathering or a small company dinner.

There were corner protectors on every table corner. You do not see that often in restaurants—such a thoughtful touch!!

At the entrance, there were recommended set meals featuring soba and udon. There are kids' sets too.

I liked that there was a sashimi platter with sushi, sashimi, tempura, udon, and salads; a 10-piece white-fish sushi set with tempura, vegetable salad, and tofu salad; and set menus with sushi, chashu, noodle dishes, and salad. The menu was really varied~

We wanted to try both sushi and sashimi, so we went big and ordered the sashimi platters~ They include 8 pieces of sashimi, 8 sushi pieces, 3 tempura pieces, udon, vegetable salad, and tofu salad. Unusually, there were two size options, Good and Better, haha. We wanted to compare them, so we ordered one Good and one Better~

Once our order went in, the chef was making sushi right away at the front of the table area~ I could see the chilled sashimi ingredients too, and the salmon in particular looked so fresh~ Seeing the ingredients out in the open, and sushi made as soon as we ordered, definitely raised my trust!!

What was different between the Good and Better sashimi platters?

The table was completely filled with food~ The table setting and presentation were cleanliness itself~

The Better sashimi platter had extra flame-seared shrimp sushi topped with a special cream sauce, eel sushi, and chicken sushi~ That cream-sauce shrimp sushi was seriously delicious. Having only one made it even more precious, and it was the best haha.

The Good sashimi platter had scallop sushi and rolled-egg sushi that were not on the Better platter, and they were so soft and delicious~

The salmon and flounder sushi were especially delicious, and I could see why they are available as individual items. White fish and salmon are so good, right? Moshi Moshi Sushi does them really well haha.

The sushi just melted in my mouth haha. How many grains of rice are even in sushi? The rice portion was just right and not overly seasoned, so the sashimi texture stood out even more. It had been so long since I had sushi this delicious—happiness came rushing in.

The 8-piece sashimi tasting plate was truly the best~ It came with flounder, salmon, tuna, and abalone, all incredibly fresh with no fishiness at all. It went into my mouth and disappeared right away~ A little lemon juice made it even better!!

All four kinds of tasting sashimi were delicious, but my boyfriend said the tuna was especially good. He said it was smooth without being rich. I do not usually like tuna that much either, but it was so good that I ate both pieces myself haha.

The freshly fried, nutty tempura and udon were delicious too. This is an udon spot!! The salads and every other dish were really good.
