Sushi restaurant in Dongnae, Busan: Moshi Moshi Sushi Set 2

While stopping by Busan, I had sushi with a friend at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch. We chose Moshi Moshi Sushi and ordered Set 2, which came with sushi, chashu, and a noodle dish.

Where is the restaurant in the department store, and when does it close?

The restaurant is in the eighth-floor dining area of Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch, at 1393 Jungang-daero, Dongnae-gu, Busan. The original post listed its hours as 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM daily, with last orders at 8 PM.

The layout made the interior easy to see from outside. I could look over the menu before going in, but since we both wanted sushi that day, it did not take us long to decide.

Are there seats for group meals?

The interior was neat. There were bar tables near the kitchen, tables for two to six people, and private rooms for dining separately. With plenty of tables and advance reservations available, I thought it could also work for nearby office workers' lunch gatherings or company dinners.

At the time of my visit, there was also information about a Naver receipt-review event. We were too full after eating to take part.

What comes with Set 2?

There were individual set meals and sets intended for sharing. My friend and I chose Set 2, which included 16 pieces of sushi, chashu, and one noodle dish. For the noodle dish, we could choose udon, memil (buckwheat noodles), ramen, or seafood yaki udon.

They also sold sushi-only sets and individual sushi pieces. After having an assortment, it was possible to add more of the sushi pieces I liked.

There was also a wide selection of side dishes, drinks, and alcohol.

What side dishes come before the meal?

The complimentary side dishes included a vegetable salad, tofu salad, and pickled side dishes. The vegetable salad had the familiar flavor I expected from a sushi restaurant, and I especially liked the tofu salad, so I had several helpings before the main dishes arrived.

Jangguk (clear Japanese-style soup) came with the side dishes, so we ate while waiting for our food.

How was the sushi in the set?

For the sushi, we could choose between “good” and “better,” and we chose “good.” It included sushi I already liked, so I was satisfied.

Both the onion salmon and soy sauce salmon were soft and rich. The white fish sushi was also tasty, and the yukhoe sushi was seasoned just right for me. The fish felt fresh, and I liked that the slices were thick.

What was the seafood yaki udon surcharge, and was the set filling?

Choosing seafood yaki udon with the set cost an extra ₩4,000. It came with generous amounts of noodles and bean sprouts alongside seafood such as shrimp and squid, so the surcharge did not feel wasted. It was savory, with plenty of the mayonnaise I like on top.

The chashu was served in a round arrangement with soy sauce. It paired well with onion, and I thought it would also work over rice like a rice bowl.

I expected the noodle dish and chashu to be small sides, but both arrived generously portioned on large plates. With the sushi as well, the three dishes made the two of us very full. It was described as a meal for two to three people, and based on what I ate, I felt it would be enough to share among three people.
