Today I'm introducing Forerest (포어레스트), a healing forest café in Nogyang-dong, Uijeongbu 🎶
How to get to Forerest in Uijeongbu, and parking
Forerest is a forest café at 181 Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu. Drive straight up the side road next to the building you can see from the main road, and you'll reach the car park. I'd passed this café so many times and have actually visited a few times already! It's surrounded by forest, which is so nice 🍀 The photo below is the building you see while driving. I came in after spotting it, but it's not the café, lol.
Drive straight up the side road beside the building and you'll find the car park! You can also park in front of the building in the photo above and walk up.
Right as you turn onto the side road there's a parking sign, so it's not hard to find :)
↓↓↓↓↓ Then you get a huuuge open lot like in the photo below, and all of it is parking, haha. I visited during the Chuseok holiday too, and no matter how crowded it was, there was plenty of parking space!!
Forerest's outdoor garden and dog-friendly vibe
The outside of Forerest is all green forest scenery, so before going in I enjoyed the view outdoors first, haha. Look how green all the photos are!! The weather was amazing 🌞🌞🌞
The weather was so good that day that most people were sitting outside, and lots of them brought their doggies!! 🐕🐕🦺🦮
Forerest is dog-friendly. As long as the rules are followed, dogs can even come inside, but most people were just enjoying themselves freely outdoors 😚

Inside Forerest, besides the main hall there are 4 separate rooms, and the drink-making area is open. Now let me show you the interior, hehe.

Apart from the main hall there are 4 separate rooms in total. (I couldn't photograph one of them because it was too crowded.. 😂) The drink-making area is super tidy and open-style too.

Forerest's most popular seats: how many inner-terrace tables?
The most popular spot at Forerest is the inner terrace area inside the café, and there are only 3 tables, haha. We got lucky and one was free, so we sat right down 😁 Like I said, just 3 tables on the terrace, lol (but the chairs are hard..ㅠㅠ)

Forerest's only dessert is Basque cheesecake, and you order by picking a flavor. Sorry, a bit late with the menu.. haha. This is what we ordered 😉

I suddenly realized I didn't know exactly what Basque cheesecake means, so I looked it up.. lol, a little fun fact
When you order, you enter your phone number, and when your order is ready you get a KakaoTalk (Korean messaging app) message like this!
Even though we'd already eaten a meal, we ordered 2 cakes.. haha. I'd had the plain Basque cheesecake last time, so this time I went for choco and matcha!!
Forerest's Americano and limited-quantity orange juice
Forerest's iced Americano (₩5,500) was mellow and nutty with no sourness, so it was a thumbs-up. The orange juice (limited quantity, ₩7,800) tasted like freshly blended oranges.
Chocolate Basque cheesecake ₩8,000, matcha Basque cheesecake ₩8,000
The orange juice said limited quantity, so I figured they'd be blending 100% oranges, and I was right, haha. Full of pulp, and the sweetness was exactly that natural fruit-juice sweetness!! 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊
How do Forerest's chocolate and matcha Basque cheesecakes taste?
Forerest's Basque cheesecake is super dense and fudgy, and the choco Basque tasted and felt almost like eating fresh chocolate from the very first bite, so I went "Oh?!" in surprise, lol. Both the choco and the matcha come straight from the fridge, so the cross-section looks cool, dense and chewy :)
It's cold at first, but it melts as time passes, so if you don't like that melted, mushy texture, wolf it down as soon as it comes out!! lol
The choco is a rich, high-quality chocolate flavor 🍫🍫 🍵🍵 The matcha is mellow, and personally the plain cheesecake I had on my last visit suited my taste best!! lol (still, they were all delicious)
Why I want to go back to Forerest
The drinks and desserts at Forerest are tasty, but above all the atmosphere of being surrounded by nature is so lovely that I'm planning to visit again :)
