Suwon Chinese restaurant: three-dish lunch for two at Gang's Duck
In short
Gang's Duck is a Chinese fine-dining restaurant in Ingye-dong, near Suwon City Hall Station, run by chefs who trained in hotel Chinese restaurants. Two of us pre-ordered dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly) through Naver Reservation and shared it at lunch with Hong Kong-style egg noodles and Peking duck fried rice, leaving completely full. Gang's Duck satisfied even without its Peking duck, and booking the signature Peking duck is the plan for next time.

What is Gang's Duck, the Chinese restaurant near Suwon City Hall Station?
Gang's Duck (갱스덕) is a Chinese dining restaurant in Ingye-dong, near Suwon City Hall Station. I love Chinese food and I'm always hunting for new places, and this time I found one with a great atmosphere near Suwon City Hall Station, so I went!!

It's run by chefs who came from hotel Chinese restaurants, and a lot of reviews say the food quality is great~

Do you need a reservation at Gang's Duck?
I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservation. I did too, and since there may be a wait, it's better to reserve.
It's close to Suwon City Hall Station so it's easy to get to, and people say it's a popular spot for dates, family meals and company dinners~ The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the vibe is different from an ordinary Chinese restaurant.

Gang's Duck interior and atmosphere
The Ingye-dong branch has a sleek, modern interior done mostly in black, and the soft lighting makes it feel cozy, so I think it would be great for a date~~
The space is fairly large too, so it looked good for group gatherings and company dinners! I went at lunch, but I bet it feels totally different in the evening.

Why pre-order dongpo-yuk when you book Gang's Duck
Gang's Duck's signature dishes include Peking duck and dongpo-yuk (braised pork belly), and I pre-ordered the dongpo-yuk when I made my Naver reservation. Maybe that's why we didn't have to wait long for it.

For the best flavor and to manage quantities, they recommend booking ahead for the Peking duck and dongpo-yuk, so if you plan to eat them, I'd reserve in advance~!!
This time we had three dishes: dongpo-yuk, Hong Kong-style egg noodles and Peking duck fried rice, and the two of us ate until we were full~

How does the dongpo-yuk at Gang's Duck taste?
The dongpo-yuk was so tender that even chopsticks cut it easily, and it comes with bok choy. As the dish I was most excited about, it looked incredibly appetizing from the start!😍 Thick, glossy pieces of pork came out with the bok choy, and it looked delicious just sitting there.

On the first bite the meat was really soft. Maybe because it's braised for so long, it melted in my mouth. The salty-sweet sauce soaked deep into the meat and balanced it nicely, and the bok choy cut through anything that might feel greasy👍🏻

What are Gang's Duck's Hong Kong-style egg noodles like?
The Hong Kong-style egg noodles were springy and chewy. I like noodle dishes so I ordered them, and that bouncy texture egg noodles are known for really came through, with a chewiness clearly different from ordinary noodles!!

They aren't heavily seasoned but you keep reaching for more, so they were a personal favorite~

Why is the Peking duck fried rice so popular?
The Peking duck fried rice has Peking duck mixed into fluffy stir-fried rice, and it was far better than regular fried rice. I was excited just from the name, and after one bite I understood why it's popular!☺️

The rich flavor of the duck went well with the rice, and a faint smoky wok aroma kept it tasty to the very end><!

Next time I have to try the Peking duck. After that fried rice, I really want it!!! haha

What kind of gathering suits Gang's Duck?
I'd recommend Gang's Duck for special days, regular dates, family meals or get-togethers with friends. It's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., so it works from lunch to evening gatherings, and it's close to Suwon City Hall Station, so it's easy to reach.

Next time I'll reserve Gang's Duck's signature Peking duck in advance and try it! If you're looking for a good restaurant near Suwon City Hall or a Chinese restaurant in Ingye-dong, I recommend giving Gang's Duck a visit, since both the atmosphere and the food were good~
