Yangyang café with a boat ride for toddlers: Cafe Dunchi
In short
Cafe Dunchi is a riverside café in Yangyang, Gangwon, where I had drinks and took a boat ride with my 26-month-old. The river-view window seats and boat time were memorable, though the restroom is a public facility outside the building.

What did we enjoy at the café with a 26-month-old?
While traveling in Yangyang, I was looking for somewhere to go with my child and visited Cafe Dunchi (카페 둔치). At first, I thought it was simply a riverside café, but it was also a place where we could spend time on the river by boat.

I was worried that my 26-month-old would not be able to sit in a café for long, so being able to enjoy a boat ride together was what prompted our visit. Having coffee and then taking the boat made it feel like part of our trip rather than just a short break.

Where is the café, and when can you use it?
Cafe Dunchi is at 295 Ilchul-ro in Yangyang-eup, Yangyang-gun. The café hours listed in the original post were 10:00–21:00, with last orders at 20:30. Boat hours were 10:00–18:00, which differed from the café hours.
Set by the river, the waterside scenery caught my eye even before I went inside. The exterior was decorated with colorful colors and paintings, and with the river and outdoor space nearby, I liked it as someone visiting with a child.

Where do you order drinks and board the boat?
Go up to the second floor of the riverside building to order drinks.

We ordered drinks on the second floor and stayed there briefly before heading to the boat boarding area on the first floor.

How were the indoor seats and restrooms?
Inside, there were seats with large windows looking out onto the river. It was a little overcast on the day I visited, which gave the calm river a quiet atmosphere. It was nice to have coffee while looking at the waterside scenery.

There were plenty of seats inside the café, and I liked being able to see the scenery outside through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

However, there was no restroom inside the café building. We had to use the public restroom outside the building.
Did my 26-month-old adapt well to the boat?
The boat was what I was looking forward to most. I was worried whether it would be okay to ride with a young child, but we put on life jackets before boarding.

My child seemed a little uncomfortable in the life jacket at first, but adapted once we got on the boat. They stayed seated and kept looking at the river and surroundings, and seemed to enjoy riding with the family.

How was operating the boat and spending time aboard?
At first, I was worried about driving it myself, but once I tried, the controls were not as difficult as I expected.

The boat could connect by Bluetooth, so I played children’s songs my child likes. My child looked around while listening, and we slowly moved around on the river while watching them.
There was a large table in the middle of the boat and cup holders, which made it easy to drink coffee. Spending time as a family drinking beverages and listening to children’s songs was memorable from this Yangyang trip.
