Kid-friendly Icheon café with fruit French toast: Cafe Arc

On days off or when I have some free time after picking my kid up from school, I always end up scrolling through SNS wondering, "Where should we go for a nice café today?" This time we went to Cafe Arc in Baeksa-myeon, Icheon. It has everything from bakery to brunch to drinks, so it was a great spot to visit with my kid.

Where is Cafe Arc, and is there parking?

Cafe Arc is located at 67 Cheongbaengni-ro, Baeksa-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, open Mon–Sat 10:00–19:30 with last order at 18:30. Parking is available.

The first thing that caught my eye when I arrived was the stylish pine tree out front. The surroundings were relaxed and quiet, so I already felt comfortable before even stepping inside.

The café sits right next to a GS25 convenience store, so if it's your first visit, just look for the convenience store and you'll find it easily.

You can park in front of the café, but there's also a large separate lot if you head around to the back of the building, which was convenient for visiting with my kid.

Cafe Arc is also well known as a bakery café in Icheon. The moment you walk in, all kinds of bread are lined up on display — as someone who loves bread, I had a genuinely happy dilemma choosing.

From kouign-amann to salt bread, pain au chocolat, and kkeurungji (crispy scorched-rice bread), there was such a wide variety it was fun picking something to go with coffee. They also run a 30% discount on bakery items at 6pm, so if you're planning to pack bread to go, it's worth keeping in mind. Next time I'd like to time my visit to when the fresh batches come out.

Brunch at Cafe Arc with a child after school

We visited this time for a café date after picking my kid up from school. What we ordered was...

That's what we ordered. The first thing that caught my eye was the fruit French toast.

It was piled generously with fruit, so it looked pretty and was fun to eat too. On top of the fluffy, richly flavored French toast were blueberries, orange, peach, banana, and more.

The banana in particular seemed to be sugar-coated and grilled, crispy outside and sweet inside — really delicious. The French toast itself is on the sweet side, but the tartness of the peach actually balanced it out nicely.

My kid's favorite was, as expected, the chocolate latte. It wasn't just sweet — it had a rich cacao flavor that even I, as an adult, enjoyed when I tried a sip.

But the item I was most satisfied with that day was the salt bread! The nurungji salt bread had a lovely nutty butter flavor, and the ham cheese salt bread, with its salty ham and cheese, was hearty and filling.

Personally, I really want to recommend the salt bread varieties at Cafe Arc.

The second floor: roomy seats for a slow brunch

Cafe Arc is split into a first and second floor, and the second floor is quite spacious and comfortable too. Done up in wood and white tones, it felt clean overall but warm, and the spacing between seats was generous, making it good to visit with a kid. There are private seats for parties of three or more as well as tables for bigger groups, so it seemed like a good spot for family gatherings or brunch with friends.

On the second floor there are dishes, water, cups, and small plates already set out, plus books to read, so it was easy to spend time there at leisure.

What else is on the Cafe Arc brunch menu?

Cafe Arc isn't just a bakery café for bread and coffee. The brunch menu includes French toast, an Arc plate, pasta, sandwiches, panini, salad, and poke, so you can go from a light bite to a full meal.

On weekdays from 11am to 2pm they also run a lunch set. The lunch set is 13,900 won for a chicken breast poke plus one americano. If you want brunch and a drink together, the set menu looked like a good deal.

Looking over Cafe Arc's menu, I also noticed the owner trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Trying the food myself, it wasn't just pretty to look at — you could tell care went into the ingredient combinations and balance of flavors, which made it even more satisfying.

In peach season, order the fresh peach smoothie

When I visited it happened to be peach season, so they were also selling a fresh peach smoothie. I heard it's made with real fresh fruit — pesticide-free peaches they grow themselves, not frozen fruit — so I definitely want to try it next time. If you love peaches, don't miss the seasonal menu.

Is Cafe Arc worth it for a café trip in Icheon with kids?

Cafe Arc won me over not just with its pretty atmosphere but with its wide range of bakery and brunch items. Visiting with my kid, the seats were comfortable and there were plenty of menu options, so it was a satisfying spot for a café date after school pickup.

The salt bread was especially delicious, so next time I want to try other bakery items one by one, and I'm curious about the sandwiches and pasta on the brunch menu too.
