Delicious yukhoe (raw beef), a great variety of meat cuts, a generous free hangover soup, and even a ground beef gift at the end! For anyone looking for the best beef restaurant in Janghowon, there's really nothing better than 'Jowatso.' Between the value for money and the freshness of the meat and service, everything was excellent — I think I'll be running back here every time I'm craving beef.

What comes on Jowatso's daily-limited beef platter?

Looking over the menu, there were all kinds of meat cuts, but one thing caught my eye right away — the 'daily-limited platter'! Being a limited quantity made it feel even more special, and the composition was so perfect I ordered it without hesitation. It's a satisfying set that lets you try flat iron steak, canola honey marinated grill, and yukhoe all at once, so I'd strongly recommend it to anyone like me who wants to taste a little bit of everything.

I stumbled onto 'Jowatso' while searching for something to do near Janghowon, and it turns out it's already word-of-mouth famous among locals. The moment I walked in, the clean, pleasant atmosphere made me think it'd be perfect for a family meal or a gathering with friends. With such a varied menu and good prices, no wonder it's so popular.

Jowatso's self-serve bar and beef sushi

At Jowatso, the Janghowon beef restaurant, side dishes often run low while you're grilling, but the self-serve bar here is really well stocked, which was super convenient. I could grab as much fresh vegetables and side dishes as I wanted without feeling awkward, which made the meal even more satisfying.

They also had rice out for making beef sushi, which was great. Grilling the meat and topping it on rice was such a treat. Beef sushi, absolutely great. Haha.

Everything we ordered today at Jowatso, the Janghowon beef restaurant, finally showed up. The visuals were incredible. And the yukhoe looked seriously delicious.

The complimentary spicy beef hangover soup

It's a bit disappointing when meat comes without any soup, right? Well, surprisingly, 'Jowatso' serves up a 'spicy beef hangover soup' for free. At first I didn't expect much since it was 'complimentary,' but I was shocked when I saw the bowl on the table. Look at how packed that earthenware pot was! The broth was deep and spicy, and after one bite I couldn't help but say, 'Wow, this is seriously amazing.' It was loaded generously with meat and vegetables, so good that I polished off a whole bowl of rice with it in no time. It'd make the perfect drinking snack too. Honestly, the quality was good enough that I'd pay for this soup on its own.

How did the yukhoe, flat iron steak and canola-honey marinated grill taste?

The first thing I tried, the yukhoe, was pure delight. Even visually you could tell how fresh it was, and one bite melted in my mouth — the texture was superb. The seasoning wasn't overdone either, so I could really taste the natural savoriness of the beef.

The great thing about beef: it cooks fast. Maybe because I was hungry, I couldn't wait to dig in. And with visuals this good, all I could think about was eating it right away. While enjoying the yukhoe, the staff kept busy grilling the flat iron steak and canola honey marinated grill for us!

It's also delicious made into sushi. When the meat itself is this good, anything works. Haha.

And the canola honey marinated grill that came with it had a subtle sweetness from the canola honey soaked deep into the meat — a flavor that pretty much anyone, young or old, would love. Maybe because it's a limited menu, every single cut exceeded expectations, and I was happy the whole time eating.

The flat iron steak included in the daily-limited set was really juicy and tender. The perilla leaves and wrap vegetables were all fresh too. When a place is busy, everything at the self-serve bar tends to be fresh since the turnover is fast. Haha.

The tender juiciness with every bite had me doing a happy little dance inside. Haha. It was so good my chopsticks kept going back, and since I was hungry, I just kept eating and eating.

Adding galbisal short rib to the order

Feeling like the limited-menu platter alone wasn't quite enough, I added an order of galbisal short rib. True to Jowatso's reputation as a great beef restaurant, the galbisal didn't disappoint. Chewy yet bursting with savory juice with every bite — it was fantastic. Popping a piece grilled just right on the charcoal into my mouth felt like all my stress melted away.

Finishing with mul-naengmyeon even Mom approved

Everyone... this place, Jowatso, the Janghowon beef restaurant, isn't just great for meat — the dessert-like finish is amazing too. I was craving cold noodles so I ordered mul-naengmyeon, and the broth blew me away. I finished it so cleanly it looked like the bowl had been washed. Even my picky mom said it was really delicious. The noodles were great and the broth was great, so next time I revisit, I'm definitely ordering the naengmyeon again!

Free ground beef on the way out

After finishing the meal and heading to pay, I had another pleasant surprise. A staff member asked first, 'Would you like some ground beef?' If you say yes, they hand you free ground beef — this kind of thoughtful service and the owner's generosity really moved me. It's not just that the food is delicious; you can feel that they genuinely care about their customers, which made me determined to come back to 'Jowatso' again.
