Today I want to introduce a place that's become known as a Bansong-dong, Dongtan restaurant for meat lovers — Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal!! If you're looking for a spot to gather near Dongtan Central Park or Dongtan Gaenari Park, pay attention haha!!
We came as two people and ordered the pork belly kimchi jjim set, and the meat was so fresh and tender that we polished off the whole bowl ☺️

Where is Yangpuni in Bansong-dong, Dongtan, and where do you park?
Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal is easy to reach from the Central Park / Gaenari Park area of Bansong-dong, Dongtan!! There's parking for about 4 cars right in front, just so you know!!

Inside Yangpuni: how far apart are the tables for a group?
The interior is neatly arranged, and the seating gaps are wide, so you don't have to squeeze carefully when walking between tables — I loved that 👍

They also had aprons and individually wrapped utensils for hygiene 👏

Which banchan come with the set at Yangpuni?
The self-serve side dish corner at Yangpuni
The basic side dishes were roasted seaweed flakes, jeotgal (salted seafood), and braised soybeans — none of them too salty, seasoned just right!! Basically the standard lineup for kimchi jjigae, right? haha

If you want more banchan, you can grab it yourself from the self-serve corner — and it was kept really clean too 👍

There was also a detailed origin label on the wall — kimchi, lettuce, and perilla leaves are domestic, while jeyuk (spicy pork) and bulgogi are from the U.S., just so you know!!!

And hey, do you know how much soju costs here? A whopping ₩1,900,,, in an era of crazy inflation, ₩1,900 soju — drinkers, you absolutely have to come here 🫢

The egg roll included in the 28,000-won set
First the egg roll came out, and it was seriously huge!! Plenty for two people to share, and it came with ketchup drizzled on the side so you could dip as much as you wanted — such a thoughtful touch 👏 details like this are what make regulars, I think 🫢

How does the pork belly kimchi jjim taste mixed with multigrain rice?
The main dish, pork belly kimchi jjim, came out in a big stone pot piled generously with tofu, green onion, kimchi, and meat!! The first thing I noticed with my first spoonful was just how much meat there was

Each piece was huge and thick, so there was a real satisfying chew, and best of all, there was zero gamey smell from the meat — it was impressively clean. It made me think they must trim and prep the meat really carefully 👍

The kimchi had been simmered for a long time, so instead of tanginess it had a deep, spicy-sweet flavor soaked through, and the tofu had absorbed so much broth that it nearly fell apart when scooped with a spoon, it was that soft!! Taking a big bite of the meat, the texture pulled apart tenderly with the seasoning fully soaked in 🐷

And the rice that comes with it is multigrain rice, cooked with a nice chewy texture — mixed into the kimchi jjim broth, it completes that sweet-and-savory combo. Scoop up a big spoonful with rice mixed into the seaweed and broth, and it's absolutely delicious 🍚

Is Yangpuni worth it for a team dinner in Dongtan?
Generous portions of meat, clean pork belly kimchi jjim with no gamey smell, and that giant egg roll on top! If you're deciding on a group dinner spot near Dongtan Central Park or Gaenari Park, I recommend Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal!!
