Eyebrow grooming in Seocho, Seoul: Minjei Makeup

My brows are dense, and a reddish tint from old semi-permanent makeup remained, so they were difficult to groom on my own. I visited Minjei Makeup Eyebrow Grooming, Gangnam Seocho Branch (민제이메이크업 눈썹정리 강남서초점) because I wanted to learn a shape that suited my face and an eyebrow makeup method I could use at home.

Where is the studio, and what was the consultation space like?

The studio is in B1, Unit 107, 34 Hyoeryeong-ro 77-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. The red Minjei Makeup sign was visible from the hallway inside the building, so it was not difficult to find even on my first visit.

I visited on Aug 30, 2026. Inside, there was a large mirror for checking brows, a treatment chair, and lighting. The space was neatly arranged, so I felt comfortable during the consultation.

How did we discuss dense brows and red semi-permanent makeup?

From the beginning, I explained my concerns about my dense brows and the reddish semi-permanent color that remained. I was not sure what shape suited me, and above all, I wanted to know how I should care for them at home.

After examining my brows up close, they explained a shape that suited my face. They told me not only which areas to groom but also why those areas needed grooming, which made it easy to understand.

Did my dense brows need a lot of trimming?

Because my brows are dark, I assumed they would need extensive grooming. In my case, though, the key was to preserve my existing brows while tidying the necessary areas.

My brows were groomed while I was told which areas to tidy and how to do it. I did not feel any discomfort or pain during the process. When I checked in the mirror along the way, the overall line looked neater rather than simply becoming thinner.

How did I learn color and makeup techniques for dark brows?

The most useful part was learning how to tone down my brows instead of drawing them darker. My natural brows are dark and the reddish semi-permanent color remained, making it difficult to choose a shade, but they explained suitable tones while considering both my skin tone and natural brow color.

I liked that they taught me a shape and color approach suited to my face together. Looking in the mirror while listening helped me understand a little better which direction to draw my brows. At the end, I was also given the eyebrow razor and eyebrow brush used for my grooming.

How long did it take, and were there any drawbacks?

I spent about an hour at the studio that day. I had many questions because I did not know much about eyebrow grooming or makeup, and I was satisfied that I could hear each explanation one by one. As someone who wanted to learn how to use the techniques at home, having enough time to listen was helpful.

While we talked, I felt they also had a lot of makeup knowledge beyond eyebrows. One thing I wished for was a wider variety of programs where I could learn other makeup information as well.

Going forward, I plan to preserve my natural brows and tone them down rather than always drawing them dark. Still, I do not yet know whether I will be able to draw them similarly every day at home. What I liked most about this visit was gaining an understanding of how to handle my brows.
