Gangnam conveyor-belt sushi with grilled prawn nigiri: Sushi Ian N
In short
Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul. I tried fish nigiri, egg shrimp sushi, steak sushi, grilled prawn sushi, half udon, and orange. Verdict: the grilled prawn sushi stood out when I wanted to pick exactly what I felt like eating.

Sometimes, once I start craving sushi, I just have to eat it. Especially a conveyor-belt sushi place with everything going round and round—it really is... the best! There is so much fun in picking out everything from classic flounder and red seabream sushi to grilled sushi with that smoky aroma.

Here is my review of Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, a good restaurant in Daechi-dong. Warning: delicious photos ahead!! ^^

What is on the menu at Sushi Ian N Seolleung?

There is a huge variety, from fish sushi such as flounder, salmon, and red seabream to yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) sushi, steak sushi, and grilled sushi. There are also rolls, gunkan sushi, udon, takoyaki, fried shrimp, and desserts such as pudding, cake, and ice cream!
Picking sushi from the conveyor belt
When I walked in, a sushi belt was circling the middle of the restaurant. You sit in front of it and grab the sushi as it goes by. At a conveyor-belt sushi place, watching everything pass right in front of you always makes you pick up things you had not planned on, haha.

You start saying, “This looks good?” and picking them up one by one, and before you know it, the plates have piled up... I started with a few classic sushi pieces.

Egg shrimp sushi
I grabbed this one immediately because of how it looked.

Shrimp sat on top of the egg, with plenty of sauce too. The egg was soft and sweet, the shrimp had a nice springy bite, and they worked surprisingly well together.

With the sauce, it was sweet and nutty overall!! I think this is the kind of sushi kids would like too.
Steak sushi
If you love meat, you have to try steak sushi too.

A large piece of meat almost covered the sushi, topped with scallions and sauce. The lightly grilled-meat aroma with the sweet-salty sauce made it feel completely different from fish sushi!!

It felt like having a proper bite of meat. It was perfect as a change of pace after eating fish sushi continuously.
Grilled king prawn sushi
And then there was the grilled king prawn sushi that really caught my eye that day!!

The big shrimp looked fantastic on its own, and it was generously topped with sauce. One bite, and the shrimp was springy, with grilled aromas and a nutty sauce too~ Of everything I ate that day, this grilled king prawn sushi really stayed with me. Grilled king prawn sushi.

Flounder
When I go to a sushi restaurant, I almost always eat flounder. It just feels like I should try the basics first, haha.

Mild and pleasantly chewy~ I could really feel the texture of the raw fish, and it was delicious!! Flounder.
Yukhoe tataki sushi
This one had an intense look from the start. It was piled with sauce and toppings over the meat, so the flavor was quite bold in one bite.

I like having a piece of seasoned sushi like this now and then, so I enjoyed it.

If you prefer meat sushi to milder sushi, give this one a try too~ Yukhoe tataki sushi.

Red seabream belly sushi
You cannot leave out red seabream either. Even in the photo, the slice of fish is quite long, so you really get its texture in one bite.

It had a different kind of firm, chewy texture from flounder, with a mild flavor~ If you like fish sushi, you really should try both flounder and red seabream. Red seabream belly sushi.

Salmon yukhoe tataki roll
I also tried a tataki roll that lets you have salmon and yukhoe together.

If you want salmon and yukhoe, just choose this one. One bite was packed with filling, so it was definitely heftier than regular sushi. Salmon yukhoe tataki roll.

The sauce made it nicely moist too, so even one plate was surprisingly filling.
Half udon
It felt a little sad to finish with only sushi, so I ended with warm half udon!!

It had a big fried shrimp, plus egg, fish cake, and vegetables, so it was more substantial than I expected for half udon. Taking a sip of warm broth while eating sushi... ahh, this combination is so good!!

Orange
After filling up on all kinds of sushi, I finished cleanly with an orange~

It was sweet and tangy, and made my mouth feel refreshed. Especially after having lots of richly flavored items like grilled sushi and meat sushi, one orange at the end was just right!!

A refreshing finish, as always~ What a great meal, haha.
Pick the sushi you want
Sushi Ian N Seolleung had such a wide range, from classic sushi like flounder and red seabream to egg shrimp sushi, grilled king prawn sushi, steak sushi, and yukhoe tataki sushi. Best of all, you can pick only the sushi you want, one piece at a time—that is the charm of conveyor-belt sushi~ On a day when you cannot decide what to eat, head to Sushi Ian N Seolleung!!
