Suwon Italian restaurant, solo burrata pizza: The European Gwanggyo

In short

The European Gwanggyo is an Italian restaurant in Suwon, Gyeonggi, serving wood-fired pizza. I enjoyed arugula burrata pizza solo and packed up the rest for my boyfriend’s late-night snack. Verdict: I’d come back whenever I’m craving wood-fired pizza.

I visited The European’s Haenggung-dong branch last time, and I still remembered how my boyfriend and I ate there in total admiration. So today, craving wood-fired pizza, I went to The European Gwanggyo, a great spot on Gwanggyo Café Street >_<

After work, I took a red bus all the way from Seoul and zoomed over to Gwanggyo Café Street~ Gwanggyo Lake Park is huge, and Gwanggyo Café Street is only one part of it?! This place feels way bigger than I expected~ I once walked around with a friend because we said we’d go for a stroll, and I think it took over 30 minutes hahaha. I’ve been saying I should come to Gwanggyo Lake Park for a walk every weekend, but it’s been way too long since I actually did, sigh hahaha. This weekend I really will come for a walk! (Don’t just come to eat—go for a walk too, self hahaha.)

Scenery around Gwanggyo Lake Park

I was originally going to walk around Gwanggyo Lake Park today too, but the weather was cloudy and I hadn’t brought an umbrella in case it rained, so I zoomed straight to this Gwanggyo Café Street restaurant instead. Let’s go indoorsddd.

This is the exterior~ Both the first and second floors are The European Gwanggyo. You enter via the second floor first, then use the first floor if the second floor is full! I visited before peak time, so I went straight upstairs.

Parking is free! You can use the restaurant parking lot, and I heard curbside or side-street parking is possible too~ Before 6 p.m. on weekdays, Gwanggyo Café Street Public Parking Lot 2 is also free. It isn’t far from the bus stop, so getting here by public transit was fine toooo.

Visitor information at The European Gwanggyo

The European, a Gwanggyo Café Street favorite, is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with last orders at 8:30 p.m.~ There’s no separate break time. + Corkage is available, though it costs extra~ There are private rooms and group tables too! It looked like a good place for a pre-wedding gathering as well +_+

Inside, with chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows

Going up the stairs, I could see these dazzling chandeliers~ Every time I see a chandelier, I think of Beauty and the Beast, me...

You could see lovely green trees through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the atmosphere was so nice >_< The interior also had such a cozy, warm feel—I really liked it haha.

The chef is from The Shilla Seoul and specializes in wood-fired pizza +_+ I had already realized how delicious it was at the Haenggung-dong branch last time, so of course I came back for more today haha.

Arugula burrata pizza and Coca-Cola

I think I’m obsessed with arugula pizza lately hahaha. The last three pizzas I’ve had were all arugula hahaha. I chose the arugula burrata pizza, topped with burrata cheese, and ordered a Coca-Cola too. Pizza options included the signature basil burrata cheese pizza, melanzane pizza, shrimp garlic pizza, and truffle funghi pizza, plus lasagna, pasta, gnocchi, risotto, steak, and salads!

Ta-da, arugula burrata pizza >_< The burrata was so delicious that I had to make myself savor it haha. It isn’t a huge portion, so it feels just right for two women to share?! For a date, I think it would be nice to add one more dish~! The wood-fired pizza here is seriously so good...!! They served pickles with it too~

I was craving the original today, so Coca-Cola Original Taste it was~ They brought an ice cup too.

My boyfriend hadn’t gotten off work yet, so I had a relaxing little healing time enjoying pizza alone on Gwanggyo Café Street for the first time in a while. It was so good that I packed up the leftovers for his late-night snack hahaha.

Box for packing up leftover pizza

I could pack up the leftovers in a box like this! It fit right into my bag, and then zoom, home~ Another day healed by wood-fired pizza at a Gwanggyo Café Street favorite! I think I’ll come back whenever I want wood-fired pizza.
