Yeongdeungpo snack restaurant set meal: Hyeonseonine Premium

Dinner in Yeouido on fireworks festival day

Raise your hand if you were in Yeouido on the day of the fireworks festival even though you weren't going to watch the fireworks?! Yep, that was me.... haha My child had been invited to a pajama party at my niece's place, so my husband dropped them off, and I came to Yeouido because I had something to do there—then was shocked by the crowds. I had barely managed to get tickets for Odyssey IMAX, and since I had to come back over that night anyway, it looked like going home and then returning would be exhausting. So I told my husband to come to Yeouido. We decided to have dinner in Yeouido and head over to Yeongdeungpo afterward~

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall location and parking

IFC Mall valet parking was, unsurprisingly, full, so we parked at The Hyundai and headed to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch (현선이네 프리미엄 IFC몰점). It is on IFC Mall L2, right beside GS25 in the direction of Yeouido Station. IFC Mall and The Hyundai are connected underground, so the access is excellent! There is no separate parking support, so I recommend using a Conrad valet card or a Hyundai Department Store parking voucher if you have one.

What about the line, seats, and ordering?

Apparently this is already a popular Yeouido tteokbokki spot with a line, but on fireworks festival day the lines at every restaurant were no joke. Since it is a place where you can take food out and enjoy it, the line never seemed to shrink. I also kept hearing delivery-app order notifications in between. Definitely a Yeouido delivery favorite?!

There were a few two-person tables and a few four-person tables. There were also some tables next to the restaurant that seemed to belong to the convenience store, and some people got takeout and ate there. You just order at the kiosk.

The Hyeonseoni Set and mild tteokbokki

They said takeout and other menu items would take more than 30 minutes, while instant tteokbokki would come out right away. I ordered the Hyeonseoni Set (₩23,000) and one Coolpis (₩1,500). Lots of tables were having the instant tteokbokki, and it looked delicious, so I have to try it next time!!

There were lots of set menus, including the Combo Set, Sunny Set, and Baby Set, so it looked easy to pick one to suit your taste. It is nice that the famous Hyeonseonine from Yongsan has opened a branch at Yeouido IFC Mall too~~~

Assorted fritters, sundae (Korean blood sausage), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), fish-cake broth, and tuna-mayo rice balls! The original menu includes mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), but it seems they substitute tuna mayo when the ingredients run out. I don't know how the gimbap tastes, but the rice balls were incredibly good, so I was satisfied haha

You can choose Hyeonseonine's tteokbokki spice level from three options: mild, medium, and spicy. Reviews said even the medium was pretty spicy, so I chose mild for my spice-wimp husband. It was mild enough that he was showing off, saying it wasn't spicy at all haha You could spoon up the sauce, too.

The rice cakes were so chewy that I could eat them endlessly!!

Crisp fritters and sundae with liver and lung

Squid, assorted vegetables, gim-mari (seaweed-wrapped glass noodles), sweet potato, and dumplings. The batter was thin and crisp, and it stayed crisp even when thoroughly dipped in the tteokbokki sauce!

Usually, when you order sundae at a chain snack restaurant, you don't get any offal besides the sundae itself. Here they gave us liver and lung too, so my husband and I had a battle over them since we both love offal, hahaha. They were delicious dipped in the tteokbokki sauce or lightly in salt!

The set was so generous and the combination was so good that I recommend getting a set!! It was so delicious that I ate without thinking, then suddenly got sooo full haha

Korean snack dishes that are good to share with kids

The rice balls were seriously so good!!! There were lots of dishes to share with children, so plenty of families had come with kids. Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekdays and from noon on weekends (last order at 20:40).
