I found a Korean bar in trendy Gunja with lots of anju (drinking snacks) choices and great prices, so I had to go! Saechamjip looks ideal for group gatherings at a private-room-style bar near Gunja Station, and I’d recommend it for a second round of drinks too. Here comes my honest review!

Saechamjip, with its warm, bowlful-of-heart vibe! It’s only about a two-minute walk from Exit 6 of Gunja Station. The sign welcomes you from way down the street.

I was waiting for my friend downstairs instead of heading up, and there’s a big menu on the first floor. Everything looked so good—what should we get?!

Just take the elevator up to the second floor! It’s open until 2 a.m., so I recommend it for anyone looking for a bar that stays open late.

Inside: curtained seats and group tables

Saechamjip is really spacious, and inside there are private, cozy areas where curtains divide each table!! If you’re looking for a private-room-style bar with separated spaces around Gunja Station, I recommend Saechamjip.

There are all sorts of seating options: regular tables, partitioned spaces, group tables, and more, so it looked great for group gatherings too. I sat by the window!

There were so many delicious-looking dishes that I couldn’t decide what to eat~!

Menus hanging on bamboo blinds! I heard Saechamjip’s signature dish is stone-plate bone grill. I saw lots of tables having makgeolli (Korean rice wine) with the bone grill. But the other dishes looked too good, so I ordered diced pork collar tofu kimchi (₩19,900), octopus-shrimp kimchi pancake (₩18,900), and giant pollock roe mayo rolled omelet (₩13,900)! Aren’t the prices such a bargain?

Hovenia tea and muksabal starter

Once we finished ordering, out came the water, starter dishes, and... hovenia sticks!!!!!

The water wasn’t just water—it was hovenia tea, and they even gave us hovenia sticks. Is this their master plan: have hovenia tea and sticks, don’t get drunk, and drink a whole lot more alcohol...?

And muksabal (acorn jelly in chilled broth) is the complimentary starter,, 👍

Diced pork collar tofu kimchi

Diced pork collar tofu kimchi (₩19,900). Cubed pork collar, stir-fried kimchi, and tofu!!! A combination that simply cannot taste bad.

There are roasted whole garlic cloves throughout, too. It seriously couldn’t possibly taste bad!! Topped with shredded scallions, it was so delicious!! If you go to Saechamjip, you have to try it—it’s insanely good!

Kimchi pancake with octopus and shrimp

Octopus-shrimp kimchi pancake (₩18,900). Usually, squid kimchi pancake is the most common kind, right? But this one was octopus and shrimp, so I had to order it.

It was packed with big chunks of octopus and shrimp. Perfectly crisp with just the right spicy kick—I devoured this octopus-shrimp kimchi pancake without even realizing it!!!

Giant pollock roe mayo rolled omelet

Giant pollock roe mayo rolled omelet (₩13,900). A rolled omelet truly giant enough to earn the name arrived. And not just any rolled omelet—it was pollock roe mayo for ₩13,900,,

The thick omelet was stuffed full of pollock roe mayo, so you could really taste the roe—it was so good. It had that kind of drinking-table? dinner-table? feeling that Koreans can’t help but love,,

With anju this delicious, you can’t leave out the drinks,, Thanks to the hovenia sticks they gave us, we had our fill of both food and drinks and left in a great mood haha.

The restrooms are inside and separated by gender 👍👍 They even provide mouthwash, dental floss, and hair ties in the restroom!!
