As the name suggests, Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant (동백한옥집 숯불구이 정육식당) is a restaurant with a hanok (traditional Korean house) interior where you grill meat over charcoal. It was spacious and comfortable, and the meat was tender and delicious. It looked like a great place for a get-together in Dongbaek, too.
Where is Dongbaek Hanokjip near Eojeong Station, and is there parking?
Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant is at 221 Eondong-ro, Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st floor), 100 meters from Eojeong Station toward the Eojeong Furniture Complex. It is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:30–21:30, and closed every Monday.

This is the view from the front, and the hanok interior is seriously beautiful. Even I, someone in my 20s, thought it was so cool, and I bet older folks would love it! There's a big parking lot behind the restaurant, so it's great if you're coming by car. You can also enter the restaurant from the parking-lot side.

Is the Dongbaek Hanokjip dining room and seating spacious?
The inside of Dongbaek Hanokjip is really big, and since it was lunchtime, it was buzzing with people there for lunch. I only photographed the spots with no people, but the back area was spacious too, haha. The ceiling is high, so it felt like conversations didn't carry! The seats are really roomy, too ^^

How do you pick meat at Dongbaek Hanokjip, and what does it cost?
At Dongbaek Hanokjip you choose your meat yourself from the butcher fridge, and there was a wide variety: pork neck, pork belly, beef and more. Maybe because it's a butcher restaurant, the meat felt really fresh! Once you take a piece out, you can't put it back, since it could spoil. So I chose carefully.

We picked Handon (Korean domestic pork) belly and Handon neck.
- Handon pork belly, 318g: ₩27,030
- Handon pork neck, 212g: ₩18,020

After choosing, take the meat to the counter and register it~ Then they light the grill at your table and you can start grilling.

Ordering side dishes on the table tablet
Every table has a tablet, and that's how you order. There's a review event going on, and the side menu had all the essentials: mul naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, doenjang jjigae and more. I ordered one mul naengmyeon and one bowl of rice.

Spoons, cups and plates kept beside the table
Everything you need, like the call bell, spoons and chopsticks, cups and plates, is neatly set out beside the table. You don't have to go far for anything, which is so convenient. The utensils are gold-colored too, which put me in a good mood.

Banchan and the self-serve side dish bar
This is the basic banchan (side dishes) spread!

If you want more of any side dish, just go to the self-serve bar and help yourself.

How did the charcoal-grilled Handon pork neck and belly taste?
At Dongbaek Hanokjip, the staff grilled the pork neck first. I liked that there's a guard around the grill that stops the oil from splattering.

Diced pork neck!!! Shishito peppers and green onions come out too, so you grill those along with it.

Once the meat is fully cooked, move it to one side of the grill. The meat was tender and delicious.

The pork belly had just the right fat ratio and wasn't tough at all, so it was so good. It's been a while since I've been to a place where you grill shishito peppers and green onions too, and of course it was delicious!

Grilled pork with mul naengmyeon (cold noodles)
The mul naengmyeon was cold and delicious too. Honestly, meat + mul naengmyeon is a combo that's never bad, lol

There's even a coffee machine on the way out, so I thought this place is just perfect for lunchtime.
Is Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant worth a return visit?
At Dongbaek Hanokjip Charcoal Grill Butcher Restaurant, I liked that you can choose your own meat, and you can tell it's fresh. The space is really big with a high ceiling, so we got to eat meat in a comfortable atmosphere, and the roomy seats made the meal relaxing. Above all, having the restaurant's own parking lot meant easy parking before the meal. If you live in Dongbaek, I think you'd visit this place all the time. Totally satisfied!
