Gojan-dong, Ansan pub: giant shrimp-squid chive pancake, Samsigi-ne

After dinner I went looking for a pub with good food, and heard that Samsigi-ne (삼식이네), which serves Korean dishes as drinking snacks, had just opened in Gojan-dong. I love Korean food, so I always end up hunting for pubs where the Korean food is good too.

Samsigi-ne Jungang Gojan: location and hours

Samsigi-ne Jungang Gojan is on Sarigol Tuna Street. Turn into the alley in front of Mr. Squid and you'll find it across from the izakaya Chun. It's near the district court and the prosecutors' office, so it's a good spot for a team dinner. You can reserve ahead on Naver too!

The first thing that catches your eye on the sign is the phrase "Don't worry, just 3 items." There are also outdoor tables, which looked great for a drink outside on a nice day! The pub is open from 5 PM to 1 AM, and until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can drink at a relaxed pace.

Inside: a vibe with group seating

Inside, there are group tables up to 4-person tables, with a comfortable distance between them, and the mood is perfect for drinking with friends!

With its group seating, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a team dinner spot in Gojan-dong. Each seat was set with small plates, a spoon and chopstick rest, and water cups.

Signature dishes and the Hansang set

Samsigi-ne's signature dishes are three: fire-grilled jeyuk bokkeum (spicy pork stir-fry), garlic chicken, and the shrimp and squid chive pancake. There's also a Hansang (full table) set, with everything from a stew to rolled omelet (gyeran-mari) and a main, at a great price, and I instantly regretted having already eaten dinner T_T The fire-grilled jeyuk looked so good, but I'd had jeyuk for dinner, so with a heavy heart I ordered the shrimp and squid pancake. Next time I'm definitely coming for round one and trying the Samsigi Hansang haha.

There's a wide choice of small snacks and side dishes, so they looked easy to order alongside a main! They also sell ice cream for dessert.

Soju ₩3,000 for 3 people and a receipt review event

They were running several events, and if you join the receipt review event you get a free glass of Orion draft beer! If three of you visit, soju is just ₩3,000, so I recommend going as a party of three!

Orion draft beer for ₩6,000, with a perfect foam ratio

Not many places serve Orion beer, so I ordered the draft right away. At ₩6,000, the price felt friendly too.

The tableware was cute and clean, and the free starter snack was a cabbage salad with mayonnaise.

Right after ordering, I watched the draft beer being poured, and it had a real master vibe haha. The ratio of beer to foam is perfect, isn't it?!

The cream is incredibly smooth and it goes down cold, so it's perfect for summer. Beer is best gulped down, right!

Samdol-nim was stir-frying the jeyuk in the kitchen, and the flames and smoky fire aroma were no joke. Why did I eat jeyuk bokkeum for dinner T_T

Shrimp and squid chive pancake: enormous

When the shrimp chive pancake I ordered arrived, I was startled by how enormous it was. Definitely don't eat dinner before you visit T_T!

It came with soy sauce containing sliced spicy chili, and the chives in the pancake were super crispy, so I could tell it was fried well.

Cut it into bite-size pieces with scissors and tongs, then dig in. It was packed with plump shrimp and chewy squid, which I loved.

Even plain, the pancake is well seasoned and tasty, and with a slice of chili from the soy sauce on top it gets a little spicy, a perfect match! The cold draft beer and the rich, savory seafood chive pancake also pair well.

If you're looking for a Korean-food spot, a team dinner venue or a pub in Gojan-dong, I recommend visiting Samsigi-ne for the tasty snacks! Draft beer is a must~~~
