Why I chose root straightening instead of full straightening

About six months after my volume straightening treatment, curls began to grow back at my roots. The rest of my hair was fine, but the hair at my crown and around my face was sticking up, so I booked an appointment at One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station (원앤온리헤어 과천청사역점).

When a hair appointment takes a long time, I feel that comfort during the process matters too. This time, they used a moisturizing shampoo suited to my dry hair.

At every shampoo, they asked whether there was anywhere I wanted rinsed more, and they finished with acupressure, which left my scalp feeling refreshed. I never felt heat or discomfort while they applied the solution or styled my hair with heated tools.

What was provided while I waited for the treatment?

They brought me a Vogue magazine while I waited. I could choose coffee, juice, or chamomile, and I chose orange juice. When I mentioned that I had not eaten, they also brought toast and snacks.

How did my flyaways and morning styling change afterward?

The change may not look as dramatic as a full perm, but the difference was clear to me. The hair that had been curling at my roots was straightened and neatly arranged.

I had recently been losing a lot of hair, which meant more short flyaways and something that had been bothering me. Once my roots were smoothed, even the flyaways that had been sticking up lay flatter.

I did not have my whole head treated again, but the trouble of styling my hair each morning was greatly reduced. Because we discussed keeping volume in my bangs, they did not feel overly flattened. What satisfied me most this time was tidying up my curly roots and flyaways.
