Gwacheon hair salon for an easy long layered cut: One & Only Hair
In short
One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station is a hair salon in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi. I cut more than 10 cm from my long hair and got a subtle layered cut; the styling advice made it easy to recreate my bangs at home. I was especially pleased that it reduced the weight of my hair without adding overly dramatic layers.

I had kept growing my hair out for my wedding, but I did not like my hairstyle in the honeymoon photos. I made an appointment the day after returning and visited One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station (원앤온리헤어 과천청사역점), near my office after work. I wanted a layered cut that would take some weight out of my long hair and still be easy to manage at home.

What did I dislike about my hair before the cut?
I had simply been growing it out without much upkeep, so it looked frizzy. Because my long hair had not been shaped for my face, photos made the middle of my face look longer and gave me the impression of looking older.

Where is the salon, and is parking available?
It was conveniently located for exits 1 and 11 of Government Complex Gwacheon Station. There was an entrance where the standing sign was, and I was told parking support was also available.

The salon is on Basement 1 of Gwacheon Government Complex Station Hanyang Sujain Officetel. The building was clean, and with several designers available, I could select the person I wanted through Naver Booking.

As of the original post date, Sep 4, 2026, a 20% discount on hair services for first-time visitors was being advertised.
What were the interior and treatment spaces like?
The waiting area, wardrobe lockers, treatment chairs, and shampoo room were all kept clean. I found the space comfortable during my visit.

Does the assigned designer handle the consultation and shampoo too?
One reason I chose this salon was its one-on-one designer system. When I visited, my assigned designer handled the entire process, from consultation and shampoo to the cut and finishing. They welcomed me warmly from the start, which put me at ease.
During the consultation, they listened to the style I wanted and suggested an approach suited to my hair texture and daily routine. I had wondered whether long hair would be okay because I had mostly seen their short-hair work, but I booked after referring to reviews of their long-hair services.

Shampooing was the first step. I was told products were used differently depending on hair texture, and several hair products were displayed in the salon.

For my hair, they used shampoo and treatment for damaged hair. The scalp massage made me feel refreshed, even in that short time.

How did they adjust the length and layers for my long hair?
They began by cutting the overall length. They checked the current state and the direction I wanted throughout the process, so it was easy to share my thoughts.

I cut more than 10 cm from hair I had grown for a long time. Even after just setting the length, my hair felt noticeably lighter.

Before the blow-dry, they applied a protective hair essence and heat protectant. They also kept checking whether I was uncomfortable while drying my hair.

They worked quickly but still checked the finer details of the shape. Before properly adding the layers, my hair already looked refreshed just from being tidied up overall.

I said I did not want the layers to be too dramatic. They shaped the cut for my face and repeatedly checked the balance between the left and right sides.

Was it easy to manage even though I rarely blow-dry my hair?
I explained that I rarely blow-dry my hair and usually only curl the front with my Dyson. Based on that habit, they refined the shorter hairs around my face and explained how to style my bangs.

The next day, I curled my bangs with my Dyson as I had been shown and went to work. It was not difficult to do myself, and I have continued styling it the same way since. I liked that it was not only finished nicely at the salon but was also easy to manage in everyday life.
What were the blow-dry and final look like after the cut?
After the cut, they styled it with a blow-dry for an Elizabeth perm-like look. I did not actually get a perm; the style was created with the blow-dry. They also applied hair oil at the end.

With the damaged sections cut away, my hair felt tidier. Once the blow-dry was finished, I thought it would be nice to get a cut and styling here before an important occasion. I also liked how it looked from the back.

As requested, the layers were kept subtle. Because I part my hair to the left and the amount of hair on each side can look different, they checked that too and adjusted the layers further on the right. What I liked most was that the cut reduced the weight of my long hair and made it easy to manage at home.
