Bas Burger Seongsu: a burger restaurant right by Seoul Forest

Bas Burger Seongsu is a burger restaurant right near Seoul Forest Station. I had plans in Seongsu on the weekend and ended up wandering around craving a burger so badly, so I went to Bas Burger Seongsu haha. I usually like burger restaurants and went in with high hopes, and it really was delicious. As expected, Bas Burger is a Seongsu Station favorite!!

Proof of countless visits so far,, I personally love Bas Burger so I go often hahaha. Out of all the burger chains, this is honestly my favorite. The soft lettuce is pretty tasty too ❤️

It's right near Seoul Forest Station and I noticed they'd relocated! I used to come here sometimes before, but they moved one block over and it felt cleaner + expanded.

Inside Bas Burger Seongsu: space and seating

The inside of Bas Burger Seongsu is tidy and has plenty of solo-dining seats. The Seoul Forest/Seongsu area is always full of office workers at lunch and tourists too, so restaurants around here tend to be neat overall, and Bas Burger's interior was more organized than I expected, so it was comfortable to sit and eat. The vibe isn't super hip, more like a casual place that's good for eating burgers.

James Gam fries, the side I always order

The thing I love most at Bas Burger!! It's the James Gam fries haha. They're tastier than regular potato fries, honestly. Crispy, thinly cut, and I still haven't found a fry that beats these ,,,❤️❤️

The table layout felt just right for coming with friends or on a date. The store isn't huge and it was packed, but thankfully we got in without a wait.

New menu items, order options and 7 kinds of beer

Bas Burger Seongsu has a lot of new menu items now. There's Mozza Chicken Bites and a Mozza Chicken combo, and the chili mozza cheese bar seemed like the new menu item that's absolutely delicious ,, ❤️ Everything looked good,,

And I liked that when ordering a burger, you can freely choose or add raw onion or grilled onion. It was also nice being able to try beer tastings and multiple sauces at once!! There were as many as 7 kinds haha. Beer prices were reasonable too.

What we ordered at Bas Burger Seongsu and how the prices felt

We ordered the Bas Burger, Hawaiian burger, onion rings, sweet potato fries, chili mozza, and beer!!! Since the James Gam fries exist, having sweet potato fries alongside them turned out to be a surprisingly good combo haha.

Overall, the patty was solid, so satisfaction was pretty high. Burger restaurants these days tend to be pricey, and this place isn't dirt cheap either, but considering the cost of living around Seongsu/Ttukseom, it didn't feel overly expensive.

Especially this chili mozza with beer was such a good match ,,,,,,,,,,,, Especially great to eat together in this hot summer haha.

The Bas Burger, the classic on the menu

First we tried the Bas Burger. Since it's the basic burger, I honestly didn't expect much, but the patty was pretty thick and juicy, so it was tastier than I thought. The bun wasn't too dry either, on the softer side, and the veggies felt fresh hahaha. Maybe because it's the basic option, the combination of ingredients wasn't overdone, so it was more than just decent — it was actually delicious haha.

The Hawaiian burger: pineapple on a beef patty

And the one I was personally curious about was the Hawaiian burger!!! Burgers with pineapple are a bit love-it-or-hate-it, but I already like pineapple in food so I ordered it hahaha. Trying it, the salty flavor of the patty and the sweetness of the pineapple worked together, and the combo was better than expected ❤️ This might become my favorite burger???

The pineapple seemed to cut through what could otherwise be a greasy burger flavor. Sometimes burgers get greasier the more you eat, but this one felt less like that, which I personally liked haha. Recommended.

Swapping the bun for romaine lettuce: how it works

This is the bun swapped for lettuce, good for people like me who don't love bread! The romaine was softer than expected and easy on the stomach, so I liked it ,,,,,,,,, You could call Bas Burger thoughtful for sparing dieters any guilt haha. It's actually pretty tasty too and not bad for you health-wise! So I'd recommend this option.

Sides: sweet potato fries and onion rings

Do I even need to say it — the sweet potato fries and onion rings here are just delicious. Crispy, generous portions, and with Bas Burger's many sauces to dip into here and there, you can basically reach total happiness haha.

So crunchy ❤️ The batter isn't too thick and the onion flavor really comes through. I personally can't eat much of greasy onion rings, but these felt lighter than expected — so good.

Would I go back to Bas Burger Seongsu?

If you're visiting Seoul Forest, or hanging out around Seongsu/Ttukseom, I'd recommend stopping by Bas Burger Seongsu once.

Especially !!!!!!! this chili mozza cheese bar — it's subtly spicy but so addictive lol. Really try it once. I'm bad with spice but I enjoyed it.

Eating beer and various sides together with a burger makes you feel full and happy at the same time.

Personally, next time I go I think I'll order the Hawaiian burger again. If you like burgers with pineapple, it's worth trying once, I recommend it! + I'll go with the romaine swap again haha. When you want a burger near Ttukseom Station, Bas Burger Seongsu is a Seongsu Station favorite worth visiting haha. I think I'll stop by again next time I'm in the area.
