Gwacheon hair salon layered perm for square-jaw concerns: One & Only

Ahead of a wedding and family gatherings, I visited One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station to tidy up my awkwardly grown-out hair. It had been nine months since I had last gone to a hair salon for a perm.

Was the relocated salon easy to get to?

At the time of my visit, the salon had relocated in August.

It is fairly close to a Line 4 subway station, so I thought it would also be easy to reach by train. The parking was convenient when I drove, too, so it felt accessible.

What style did I choose for my square-jaw concerns?

This time, I chose a personal layered perm. When I usually tie my hair up or style it close to my face, I feel that my jawline stands out more, so I pay close attention to my face shape when choosing a hairstyle.

I looked up styles before my visit as well. I wanted hair that would suit my face shape and naturally cover my jawline, so I decided on a layered cut and layered perm.

I first told the designer about the parts I was usually concerned about. They shaped the style while considering my face shape and overall look, and said the style I had brought in would suit me well.

I was not especially attached to keeping my length. Using a layered cut as the base, they set the line to fall slightly below my jawline, and I liked it even when only the cut was finished, before the perm.

What did I like during the perm?

During the perm, they checked whether it was too hot. I had gone straight after work and was hungry, so they gave me toast and orange juice for a light snack.

The shampoo was thorough and refreshing, too. That day, the designer handled everything from the cut and perm to the shampoo and blow-dry, which gave me more confidence in the service.

The products used were Aujua. They chose products according to the condition of my scalp and hair; in my case, they focused on protein care to help reduce perm-related damage and maintain the curls.

Do they explain how to style it at home?

I honestly said that it would be difficult to style my hair at home the way it is done at the salon. The designer explained that this style could bring out natural curls just by shaking it out and shaping it.

They also explained in detail how much curl cream to use and how to apply it. I had two curl creams at home, but realized I had not been using them properly. I decided to try the method they showed me at home.

This time, I liked that I first shared my concern about my square jaw and then chose a line that fell below my jawline together. I liked the cut line, and it was a visit where I could also learn how to style it.
