Why Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui for a three-generation family dinner in Gwangalli
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui (죽림숯불돼지구이) is an Iberico specialty pork restaurant close to Gwangalli beach. We were killing time looking at the sea in Gwangalli when the kids suddenly announced they wanted meat 😆 My mom was with us too, so we went looking for a Gwangalli BBQ place the whole family could enjoy, and that's how we ended up at Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui 🐷

It's known as an Iberico specialist among Gwangalli's popular restaurants, so we went with high expectations.

What is the atmosphere like at Jukrim?
It's near the Gwangalli waterfront, so it's a handy stop in the middle of sightseeing. The entrance looked neat and well kept, and inside it had the feel of a tidy, well-organized BBQ restaurant 🥓

The place was clean and comfortable, and above all the staff were friendly, so we started the meal in a good mood 😊 I think it would work just as well for a company dinner or family gathering in Gwangalli. Good atmosphere, kind service — an easy place to enjoy any kind of get-together 😊
Iberico pork menu and the pluma cut

Since it's an Iberico specialist, there were lots of cuts to try. I usually eat Gwangalli samgyeopsal (pork belly) or moksal (pork neck), but this time I decided to order Iberico pluma, which isn't easy to find elsewhere.😋

The menu described it as the tastiest meat in the world, praised by a three-Michelin-star chef, which made me even more curious 😋 There were also Iberico "crocodile" cut (akeoksal) and rib meat (neukgansal), but we decided to start with the pluma and decide after.

Staff grill the meat for you: the real draw of this Gwangalli BBQ 🔥
At Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, a staff member grilled the meat for us. True to a Gwangalli grill-for-you restaurant, they explained the cut and how best to eat it while it cooked, which got us even more excited.

One bite of the well-grilled pluma and I immediately understood why it's so famous. It was shockingly tender and juicy, and "melts in your mouth" was exactly the right phrase 👍

The texture was so soft and nutty that I couldn't believe it was pork, and I kept marveling the whole time 😍 The kids tried it and asked, "Is this beef or pork?" because it was so tender, and they ate really well. My mom kept praising it too, saying how delicious it was 😘

Iberico pluma twice, plus the marinated pluma
After tasting the pluma, I wasn't curious about other cuts anymore — I just wanted to keep eating this.

So we put off the crocodile cut and rib meat until next time and ordered another round of pluma.

We also ordered the marinated Iberico pluma. The seasoning wasn't overpowering and brought out the flavor of the meat, so it was really good.

Still, my pick is the plain, unmarinated pluma over the marinated one!💯 And from start to finish, because the staff grilled everything for us, we didn't have to worry about cooking and could just eat — a big plus 👍
Finishing with kimchi fried rice and kimchi-mari guksu
To wrap up the meal, we ordered kimchi fried rice and kimchi-mari guksu (cold kimchi broth noodles).

The kimchi fried rice came in a tiny pot, nutty and well balanced with the savory depth of the kimchi. The cold kimchi noodles were refreshing and clean, perfect for resetting your palate after the meat.

We finished a hearty meal enjoying it right to the end. Honestly, looking at the photos I really wanted to try the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) too, but we'd enjoyed the meat so much that we were too full to order it 😅 Next time I'll definitely try the bibim guksu, haha.
