Summer-trip pork BBQ in Gwangalli: 3 cuts at ₩14,000 each, Jukrim
In short
Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui (죽림숯불돼지구이) is a charcoal-grilled pork restaurant on Gwangnam-ro in Suyeong-gu, Busan, a 4-minute walk from Exit 3 of Geumnyeonsan Station. On a summer vacation in Busan, the writer ordered one serving each of Iberico pluma, Iberico rib meat and aged fresh pork belly, 3 servings in total at ₩14,000 each, and the staff handled everything from greasing the grill with pork fat to the grilling itself. If raw fish alone feels like a waste of a Gwangalli visit and you want real charcoal flavor, Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is the place.

#BusanTrip I'm back again, hahaha! I came for my summer vacation, lol! Busan has so many great places to eat, and so many great BBQ spots too! People go to Gwangalli for the sea, but plenty also look for a good meat restaurant. Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, where I went this time, really showed me the charm of pork grilled over charcoal, so I want to introduce it.

This is the exterior of Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui, the BBQ place near Gwangalli. There are what look like baby bamboo plants on the facade, and it looked clean and nice!

What's the atmosphere like?

This is the inside of Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui. Marble tables and a spacious room overall! It's close to Gwangalli Beach, so it's nice for a walk after the meal, and the vibe works for a family dinner, a get-together with friends or a company dinner. The interior was kept clean and the tables were spaced well enough to eat comfortably, which is another plus!

There were explanations like these, so give them a read with me! haha
Menu, prices and the review event

Here's the menu and the prices at Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui. Take a look.
There's also a review event, so do join in><haha They give you a stew (jjigae) for it, no way...o3o

Beer: ₩5,000

Soju: ₩5,000. Somaek (soju mixed with beer)? Can't resist!!!!!!

These are the basic side dishes (banchan).
One serving each of Iberico pluma, rib meat and aged fresh pork belly

Iberico pluma, ₩14,000: said to be praised by three-Michelin-star chef Ferran Adrià as the tastiest meat in the world. Iberico rib meat (neukgansal), ₩14,000: a cut you only get a little of from between the ribs, known for its chewy texture and deep savoriness. Aged fresh pork belly (samgyeopsal), ₩14,000: layers of lean meat and fat, rich in nutty flavor and aroma. I ordered one serving of each, 3 servings in all. The first order has to be at least 3 servings!

Staff grill everything over charcoal
The biggest strength of Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui is the charcoal, as expected! They really pile in the charcoal and get the fire going! A staff member grills everything for you from start to finish. First, they wipe the grill with pork fat.

Wow, they put all 3 cuts on together like this!

The subtle aroma rising from the charcoal soaks naturally into the meat and lifts the flavor even more, and as the meat cooks the nutty smell spreads and makes you hungrier, it's driving me crazy TT

How was the pluma?
The pluma was the one I was most curious about: chewy yet tender, and the nutty taste of the meat stays alive the more you chew, so good... You can tell they use fresh meat, since there was no gamey smell at all, and it went well with the charcoal aroma, so I could enjoy it to the very end! The moment I tasted it I shouted, wow, this place is the real deal, hahaha!

It came at a good thickness and was very juicy, and the charcoal-grilled pork stays golden outside and moist inside, so even a single piece dipped in just a little salt was seriously satisfying...

If eating only raw fish in Busan feels like a waste
Gwangalli has plenty of good restaurants, but if you want to properly enjoy the deep flavor of charcoal, I recommend Jukrim Sutbul Dwaeji Gui!!! I think it would satisfy for a date, a family dinner, a get-together with friends or a company dinner too!!>< With the clean interior and friendly service added on, it was a Gwangalli restaurant I'd want to visit again.
