I found a Konkuk Univ. dessert café that's full of mood AND has seriously good desserts, and it's totally my taste! It's a big 3-floor café with a spacious interior, great for chatting and relaxing. It's hot these days, and Café Ohkam is also famous as a Konkuk Univ. bingsu (shaved ice dessert) spot. Everyone was eating mango bingsu, so I'm definitely coming back for it next time!

Is the 2nd floor of Café Ohkam good for solo visits, dates and friends?
The 2nd floor of Café Ohkam has lots of seats, including group sofa seats. The seating is varied, so it works if you come alone, on a date, or with friends! The window seats, with sunlight streaming in, are so pretty too. It's perfect for a Konkuk Univ. date!

Seeing how these cakes look, there's no way I could not order one... You can tell just by looking that Ohkam's desserts are really good.

The Café Ohkam menu has fresh mango bingsu, Basque cheesecake, mascarpone tiramisu, mango cream cake and even cream cheese financiers (small almond cakes), so choosing gets really hard. As a Konkuk Univ. dessert café, it couldn't be more satisfying. The bakery items are all made in-house at Café Ohkam, so the quality is clearly good and everything looks so delicious! It makes me want to come and work through the whole dessert list.

How does the Basque cheesecake at Café Ohkam taste?
What I ordered at Café Ohkam that day was 2 café lattes and a Basque cheesecake. The drinks look pretty, and even the forks are kind of cute, so I felt I'd found the right café near Konkuk Univ. Station.

The moment I saw the Basque cheesecake, I knew I'd have regretted not eating it! The outside has that crisp, burnt brown Basque color, there's a generous pile of whipped cream on top, and a Lotus cookie stuck in it. The look is perfectly pretty, hehe.

I scooped up a bite of the Café Ohkam Basque cheesecake with my fork, and the cake itself is heavy and moist, with a rich cheese flavor spreading through. Eaten with the whipped cream on top, it gets a light, soft taste, so the balance is really good. Crush the Lotus cookie and eat it together for an amazing combo, so you have to try it that way. Alternating with the café latte, the bitterness of the coffee and the nutty richness of the cheesecake balance each other, and I just couldn't stop!

Is the café latte at Café Ohkam strong?
The café latte at Café Ohkam comes in a rounded glass, with the milk and coffee layers split in a gradient, so you eat it with your eyes first. With the first sip, espresso settles heavily under the soft milk, and a nutty, rich flavor fills your mouth. Not too strong, not too weak, exactly my style of balance..!! This is really good.
