Daegu café for cherry bingsu and almond croissant: Otter Rabbit House
In short
Otter Rabbit House (오터래빗하우스) is a European-style brunch café near Wolgwang Waterside Park in Sangin-dong, Dalseo-gu, Daegu. To cool off from the heat, the writer ordered cherry bingsu (shaved ice) topped with fresh cherries, a café latte and an almond croissant; the cherry bingsu was not overly sweet and left two people full. The three items each had a different taste and texture, making Otter Rabbit House's combination a good one to enjoy together.

To cool off from the heat, I stopped by Otter Rabbit House (오터래빗하우스), a brunch café near Woelgwang Waterside Park in Sangin-dong. I ordered cherry bingsu (Korean shaved ice), a café latte and an almond croissant. The three had such different flavors and textures that I left in a great mood.
The cherry bingsu topped with fresh cherries wasn't too sweet, and even though two of us shared it, we were completely full.
The rich, nutty café latte and the chewy almond croissant were delicious too.
Where is Otter Rabbit House, and where do you park?
Otter Rabbit House is at 63 Mirisaem-gil, Dalseo-gu, Daegu, on the first floor. When I visited, I used the Dowon Public Parking Lot, and you can also park on the street near the shop.

The exterior had a European look, with plants and the building blending together naturally.

The brick walls and wooden entrance door added a warm feel. The green flower beds surrounding the water looked like they'd show a different face each season, so I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
I used the Dowon Public Parking Lot, and street parking near the shop made it easy to park. Being a brunch café by Woelgwang Waterside Park, it's also a natural stop after a walk in the park.
Inside Otter Rabbit House
Like the exterior, the inside is cozy and European, calmly decorated with wooden furniture and low lighting. I ordered at a kiosk.

The cozy European mood from the outside carried on inside the shop.

Every corner was decorated in a warm, calm way, so I spent my time there in a relaxed mood.

With the wooden furniture and low lighting, it felt like a place where you could chat without any pressure.

From the window seats, the view outside comes into sight naturally, and each seat felt a little different.

I ordered at the kiosk.

The staff were friendly, too.
What we ordered, and dogs
At Otter Rabbit House that day, we ordered cherry bingsu, a café latte and an almond croissant. Dogs were allowed too.

A sign in front of the shop advertised the cherry bingsu, so you can see the signature item before you go in.
There was a brunch menu as well, and an area where you can pick out breads and drinks.

Dogs were allowed. It looked like a place where families could stay comfortably, too.
How does the cherry bingsu taste?
Otter Rabbit House's cherry bingsu has fresh cherries on top and ice dyed cherry-colored, and the sweetness wasn't very strong. Even though two of us shared it, we were completely full.

The moment it landed on the table, the vivid colors caught my eye first. Fresh cherries sat on top and the ice was dyed cherry-colored, so pretty I almost hated to eat it.

When I scooped up the bingsu, I could taste the fresh cherries along with it. Overall it wasn't very sweet, so I enjoyed the sweetness without it being too much.

Inside the bingsu there were also a few seedless cherries that seemed to have been soaked in cherry syrup. They were sweeter than the fresh ones, so you could taste the difference. Even shared between two, it filled us up.
Almond croissant: nutty and sweet together
Otter Rabbit House's almond croissant was chewy, and the nutty almond flavor came through well. There was a little jam tucked inside on one side.

Thanks to the jam inside, I could enjoy the nutty and sweet flavors at once. Paired with the café latte, the two went well together.
A rich, nutty café latte
Otter Rabbit House's café latte had an impressively nutty, rich flavor. The soft texture of the milk and the deep aroma of the espresso were nicely balanced.

I usually like lattes, and this café latte suited my taste too. The nutty, rich flavor left an impression, and I wanted to order it again next time.
Overall verdict
At Otter Rabbit House, I tried cherry bingsu, a café latte and an almond croissant together in a cozy European space.
The cherry bingsu that wasn't overly sweet, the nutty, rich café latte, and the almond croissant with both nutty and sweet flavors all suited my taste.
Otter Rabbit House, the brunch café by Woelgwang Waterside Park in Sangin-dong, is a place I'd like to visit again for the cherry bingsu and a latte.
