Seocho Korean BBQ: four specialty beef cuts at 100g each at Ugojip
In short
Ugojip (우고집) is a Korean BBQ restaurant in the basement of Banpo Shopping Town Building 5 near Express Bus Terminal Station in Seocho, Seoul, where beef can be ordered in 100g portions. The writer ordered 100g each of tosisal (hanger steak), anchangsal (outside skirt), salchisal (chuck flap) and galbisal (boneless rib) and compared their flavor and texture with salt, wasabi and side dishes. Ugojip suits days when you'd rather taste several specialty beef cuts a little at a time than eat a lot of just one.

Can you order beef by the 100g at Ugojip near Express Bus Terminal?
Yes! At Ugojip near Express Bus Terminal, you can order beef by the 100g, which makes it a great place to try lots of different cuts. This time I ordered 100g each of tosisal (chuck flap tail), anchangsal (inside skirt), salchisal (marbled chuck flap) and galbisal (rib meat).
When you go out for beef, sometimes you don't want just one cut, you want a little of everything. But the order sizes are usually fixed, so it's hard to try a variety, right?

What is the atmosphere at Ugojip like?
Ugojip had a relaxed vibe, good for an easy beef meal near Express Bus Terminal. It felt less like a formal BBQ place and more like somewhere you can just sit down and pick the cuts you want.
The restaurant was clean, and the first thing I liked was being able to eat a bit of many specialty beef cuts.

Ugojip side dishes and how to eat them with the beef
The basic table setting came out before we ordered the meat. The beef itself matters, of course, but good side dishes boost how satisfying a meal feels, don't they?

The side dishes went well with the beef and were handy for resetting my palate between bites. Since beef cuts differ in richness, the combination of sides and sauces matters more than you'd think. I started with salt, then added wasabi or side dishes midway, and that made the differences between cuts easier to notice.

How was the portion with 100g each of four cuts?
The beef I ordered at Ugojip was tosisal, anchangsal, salchisal and galbisal. Getting 100g of each was far more fun than eating a lot of just one cut.

The amount wasn't overwhelming, yet I could taste all four cuts, so this setup seemed pretty good for beef lovers.

Tosisal: a light, deeply beefy first cut
Ugojip's tosisal was light yet had a strong beefy aroma. It isn't overly fatty, so it made a good first cut.

Even with just a dab of salt, the flavor of the meat came through, and the more I chewed, the more that classic beef richness rose up.

Anchangsal: chewy with deep flavor
Anchangsal was a little chewier than tosisal, with deeper flavor. It has a satisfying bite, so fans of specialty beef cuts should be happy with it. Rather than grilling it hard, cooking just the outside kept the juices and texture at their best.

Salchisal: tender and rich from the marbling
Salchisal was definitely the tender one. It's a marbled cut, so a rich, fatty flavor spread first as soon as it hit my mouth, and I loved how softly it went down as I chewed.

Salchisal is good with just salt, but a little wasabi cleaned up the richness and made it even tastier.

Galbisal: chew and savory juices
Galbisal had a chewy texture and savory juices. Rather than melting like salchisal, its chew stood out more. The savory flavor kept building as I chewed, so I didn't get tired of it to the very end.

How did the four cuts compare?
Trying all four cuts at Ugojip, each one had a clearly different appeal. Tosisal was light with great beef aroma, and anchangsal had a nice chew. Salchisal was tender and rich, and galbisal charmed with its bite and juiciness.

I think I'd have felt a bit let down with only one cut, but splitting the order into 100g portions made comparing the cuts fun. That felt like Ugojip's biggest strength. It's especially good for days when you don't want a mountain of beef, just a little of many cuts.

Who is Ugojip near Express Bus Terminal best for?
Overall, Ugojip was an easy place to enjoy specialty beef cuts near Express Bus Terminal. The atmosphere isn't stuffy, and with 100g ordering it looked fine for a date, a dinner or a casual get-together.
Verdict: a great spot near Express Bus Terminal for trying several beef cuts in small amounts
Ugojip lets you order tosisal, anchangsal, salchisal and galbisal at 100g each, so it's a beef restaurant made for variety. The cuts differed in taste and texture, so comparing them was fun, and the side dishes went well with the meat. Overall it was a satisfying meal.

If you'd rather taste several specialty beef cuts a little at a time than stick to one, Ugojip is worth a visit 😊
