Where is Abidasun Salon Jamwon?

Abidasun Salon Jamwon is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of the Maple Xi mall by Jamwon Station. This time I went for a cut and perm.

It's on the 3rd floor of the commercial building right in front of Jamwon Station Exit 1. Take the middle elevator up and go into the building on the left — easy to find!

Since it hasn't been open long, it was super clean and pleasant.

There's a first-visit discount event running for new members, so it might be worth taking advantage of that. The signature build perm I got isn't listed on the price sheet, but they'll recommend the right perm for you after a consultation.

Hair condition before the perm, and why a setting perm

My hair was pretty long and I hadn't permed it, but the curl was so strong it almost looked permed anyway..

It's not quite half-curly, just frizzy hair, so I'd been managing it myself by minimizing treatments, adding lots of layers, and occasionally thinning it out. But with winter coming and drying my hair becoming a whole chore, I decided to cut off the damaged ends and get a setting perm for easier upkeep!

The haircut: why Abidasun Salon calls itself cut-focused

First up was the haircut. At Abidasun Salon, even women's cuts are done after shampooing for more precise results. Another difference — the designer handled every single step herself without any assistants, so I could fully trust her with the whole process!

I was seen by designer Hayeon, and her cutting felt incredibly detailed and technical!

Instead of eyeballing layers here and there, she cut strand by strand carefully to make sure the overall proportions matched. Since they call themselves a cut-focused salon, I'd say anyone wanting a bold change or a well-groomed overall shape with good layering won't regret trying Abidasun Salon :)

She used several different scissors depending on the purpose, which gave off a very professional feel.

Designer Hayeon put in care right to the very end. She seemed to cut with the upcoming perm and my hair's condition in mind. Honestly, the hardest part of a salon visit is describing the style you want, since your natural texture and curl are just something you're born with — but she asked about my cut and perm cycle while cutting, and explained how to manage my hair really well.

How the Signature Build Perm CS curl is done

A snack before applying the perm solution after the cut. They brought juice and cookies, so I got a little sugar boost too

The solution was applied really thoroughly. I decided to go with the Signature Build Perm CS curl! An S curl can look puffy, and a C curl would mean cutting off almost all the permed hair the next time I get a haircut — we talked it through with designer Hayeon and decided together!

She rolled the rods skillfully and kept checking in to ask if it was too hot, which made the whole experience feel attentive and satisfying.

Finally, neutralizing and a shampoo to finish :) Since my hair is black, from the back it just looks shorter with no big visible change, but from the front or side, the CS curl really shows

She said I could just scrunch it dry with my hands! I was worried about damage since my hair was pretty rough, but director Hayeon used the best-quality solution, so my hair felt less damaged and the perm smell didn't linger long. Just from the way she talked, you could tell she uses good products..!

With the setting perm, the bottom layer got fuller, so my hair feels less frizzy and looks fuller overall. Managing it should be much easier for a while now! Once it grows out more, I'll probably need a cut or two before my next perm :)

Did the CS curl hold up the next day?

The day after, even without washing it, my hair still looked great.

After washing and drying it the way she showed me, it looked exactly like it did right after the perm :) I hope it stays like this for a while..☺️
