Euljiro snack bar after-work takeout with mini gimbap: Hyeonseoni-ne
In short
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is an old-school instant tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) and snack bar in front of Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul, right next to Mega Coffee. The writer picked up a set menu for a solo meal after work and ate the full spread at home: tteokbokki, squid and gimmari fritters, mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), sundae (blood sausage) and fish cake broth. Sets start at ₩23,000, so Hyeonseoni-ne is a good-value way to lay out a whole snack-bar table in Euljiro.

Today's post is my solo outing course ➿ After work I didn't feel like going straight home, so I headed to Hyeonseoni-ne 🍡, famous for tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) in Euljiro. I've actually been to the Yongsan branch before on a date, paying with my own money, and this Cheonggye Instant Branch near Euljiro 1-ga Station has that same strong old-school feel — even as takeout, the snacks were absolutely delicious.
Where is Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch, and when is it open?
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is right in front of Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station. Hours are weekdays 10:40–21:00.

From Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, pass the Starbucks, and once you spot the Hyeonseoni-ne tteokbokki logo right next to Mega Coffee, feel the old-school vibe and turn right!
What does the inside of Hyeonseoni-ne look like?

You can see the interior is nicely decked out! There were tables for 2-4 people spread around, and office workers who'd already clocked off at 6 were already eating — this old-school vibe is exactly right for enjoying tasty, affordable tteokbokki here in Cheonggyecheon 🍡

The inside has its own distinct mood too ✨ Overall it's a relaxed atmosphere you can enjoy — a vibe you'd never get at other places!

The self-serve bar has pickled radish, utensils, and paper cups, so you can grab what you need comfortably 🍽️
Hyeonseoni-ne menu and set prices

- Hyeonseoni Combo Set ₩25,000
- Hyeonseoni Set ₩23,000
- Instant tteokbokki ₩11,000 per person
With prices these days, a set menu for ₩20,000–30,000-something is such great value — an easy stop after work without breaking the bank at Hyeonseoni-ne tteokbokki 🍢 Cheap, but the taste is excellent!

Wow, nine kinds of extra toppings alone! I once waited in line at the Yongsan branch before, so I was so glad to find a branch here in Euljiro.

There's a review event, so if you leave a review you can pick one of three menu items ➿ You've got to take part in review events like this, right!
What comes in the takeout set for one person?

Hyeonseoni-ne packs everything up really neatly 🍽️ Honestly, if I'd come with someone I would've eaten in for sure, but today was a solo day, so I took it home as takeout to keep the flavor intact.

Wow, even the packaging alone was so neat and totally to my taste!
The instant tteokbokki
I ordered the set menu and enjoyed the full course — the generous amount of sauce on the tteokbokki was already a pass! Chewy, delicious tteokbokki, it's been a while since I had one this good.
You can eat the full-course set for ₩20,000-something, so if you want snacks near Euljiro 1-ga Station, Hyeonseoni-ne with its honey-sweet tteokbokki is a great-value course!

The tteokbokki broth was the real deal 🔥 Even the color of the sauce already looks different from the rest!

Both the rice cakes and the fish cakes were absolutely delicious ✨ And the fried snacks eaten alongside the chewy rice cakes!!!! The fried snacks include squid, kimmari (seaweed noodle rolls), sweet potato, and vegetables all mixed in, so ordering the set menu means you get to enjoy the whole tasty combo without much thought.

Mini gimbap (bite-size seaweed rice rolls)
Wow, since it's mini gimbap (seaweed rice roll) instead of regular gimbap, the combo was even more delicious!

You can see how packed with ingredients it is even though it's mini 🍚 It was so good I cleared a whole pack by myself, easily.

And of course dipping the gimbap in the tteokbokki sauce is delicious too, so I happily enjoyed it properly 🔥 Once I saw the store in person, it didn't feel like a typical tteokbokki place — it had a genuinely old-school vibe, and I really want to come back on a weekday to eat in!
Sundae (blood sausage) and fish cake broth

I love liver too, so with sundae (Korean blood sausage) included I got to eat a bit of everything — absolutely delicious.

The fish cake at the end really got me 🍢 Plenty of broth, and the fish cake itself was piping hot and delicious — I got to enjoy a full, satisfying snack spread near Euljiro 1-ga Station. If you're looking for an old-school-vibe snack spot near Cheonggyecheon and Euljiro 1-ga Station, it's Hyeonseoni-ne!
