Songdo Italian restaurant for a wedding invitation gathering: Salerno

I'd like to share my honest review of a wedding invitation meetup (a get-together where you hand out wedding invitations to friends) at Salerno, a Western-style restaurant in Songdo, Incheon!! I was hunting for a good spot in Songdo for our meetup and found a real gem!!

Where is Salerno Songdo Onesta, and what about parking?

Salerno Songdo Onesta is on the 3rd floor of the Onesta building, right next to Songhyeona (Songdo Hyundai Outlet). You can park at the Onesta building, and on weekdays you can park at Songhyeona too.

If you're looking for a restaurant near Songdo Hyundai Outlet or Triple Street, it's nice and close!!

What's the atmosphere like for a wedding invitation meetup or group meal?

Salerno looks super spacious and stylish right from the outside!

Inside, the restaurant is huge and the tables are spaced widely apart. There's even group seating, so it works for all kinds of occasions: a Songdo date, a wedding invitation meetup, a family meal, a company dinner and more.

Natural light comes in, which made the mood even better, and the wood tones felt warm.

The table settings were really neat too, so it was a restaurant with a great atmosphere.

True to its reputation as a wood-fired pizza spot in Yeonsu, there's a big oven in the middle of the restaurant, which got me even more excited.

They even have storybooks for kids. Little details like this make it even better for a family meal with children, haha.

For our meetup we ordered the Salerno signature pizza (prosciutto & arugula), truffle funghi (mushroom) risotto, seafood tomato pasta and shrimp aglio e olio!

Bread before the meal

Right after we ordered, the bread and basic table setting came out first. I think the starter bread matters at a Western restaurant, and this warm bread was fluffy with a nutty flavor, and it went perfectly with the olive oil!

What does Salerno's signature torn pizza (prosciutto & arugula) taste like?

The Salerno signature pizza is also called "jjitja" ("let's tear it"): the dough is baked crisp in the wood-fired oven, torn apart, and eaten with a variety of toppings! I fell for the big oven in the kitchen, so I had to order this wood-fired pizza.

First of all, it looks amazing,, the dough was crispy like a cracker yet had the rich aroma and nuttiness of bread baked in a wood-fired oven, and the toppings were really generous!! (The bread alone was delicious.)

The prosciutto is salty with great savory depth, and wrapped in the dough with creamy ricotta, fresh arugula and cherry tomatoes.. both texture and taste were insane, T_T I fully accept this as a delicious pizza spot in Songdo, Incheon. It felt healthy yet so tasty that it was hugely popular with everyone at our meetup. If you go to Salerno, I recommend ordering at least one pizza!

Truffle funghi risotto

The Salerno truffle funghi risotto was delicious too. The strong truffle aroma and nutty cream sauce go perfectly together, and there are tons of mushrooms, so the texture and flavor were so, so good! The rice grains had a nice bite, and above all it wasn't heavy or greasy, so even the older folks ate it well.

The bowl and the plating are so pretty, right? haha A restaurant near Songhyeona with a lovely atmosphere, approved!

Shrimp aglio e olio

The Salerno shrimp aglio e olio looks plain, but the nutty olive oil and the savory depth of the garlic were addictive. I could taste a little spiciness, so I kept going back for more. The shrimp texture was great too!

Seafood tomato pasta

This seafood tomato pasta had a rich tomato sauce with a lovely seafood aroma that I really liked! It had plenty of squid, shrimp, clams and more, so much that we had leftovers, haha. All the pastas were delicious, so I understood why Salerno is famous as a Western restaurant near Songdo Hyundai Outlet.

Verdict: is Salerno a good place for a Songdo wedding invitation meetup?

This was a really, really satisfying honest review of Salerno!! The restaurant is comfortable and has a great atmosphere, so it's a good place to visit for lots of purposes: a Songhyeona date, a family meal, a Songdo wedding invitation meetup and more! It also has a kids' menu and books, so it's good to go with children too.

Above all, the food quality is really high, which is what I liked most. (I especially recommend the wood-fired pizza and the funghi risotto!) If you're looking for a Western restaurant in Songdo, Incheon with delicious wood-fired pizza and pasta, I strongly recommend it~!!
