Today I visited Sushi Doku The Songdo, a good option in Songdo whenever you're craving sushi or Japanese food. The clean interior made it feel right for a casual meal out or even a date, and honestly Songdo has so many good restaurants that it's hard to choose sometimes — this time I wanted to properly enjoy some fresh sushi, so I decided to check it out.

What kind of place is Sushi Doku The Songdo
Sushi Doku The Songdo serves sushi along with a variety of Japanese dishes. Sushi's charm is being able to taste several kinds of ingredients at once, and this place worked well both as a full meal and as somewhere to go when you're craving something clean and light.
If you love sushi, there's fun in picking through the many options here, and it's worth keeping in mind as a choice when looking for Japanese food or a sushi spot in Songdo. If you're searching for a meal near Yeonsu-gu or Technopark Station, this one's worth considering too.

When to visit
I'd recommend checking the operating hours before you go. Lunchtime especially can bring in a lot of guests looking for sushi or Japanese food, so if you'd rather eat at a relaxed pace, avoiding peak hours might be a good idea.
The menu lineup works well from lunch through dinner, so it suits all kinds of occasions — a work lunch, meeting friends, or a family meal out.

Register for the waitlist through the app first
Since this is a popular spot, there can be a wait depending on when you visit! It was convenient that you can register for the waitlist through the app instead of standing around in front of the restaurant 😊 It was even better being able to look around or spend some time nearby after registering, then walk in when it was our turn!

Otoro sushi from the receipt review event
As shown in the photo, joining the receipt review gets you one piece of otoro sushi. It's given per person, so I'd recommend everyone in your group participate and get a taste!

The menu lineup
Looking at the menu, there's a wide range of sushi and Japanese dishes to choose from according to taste. Sushi caught my eye first since you get to enjoy several kinds of fish and seafood at once, and there were plenty of good side dishes to pair with it too.
It seemed like a great fit for anyone wanting to try a variety of sushi evenly. If you're like me and prefer tasting a little of many things rather than sticking to one dish, I'd recommend going for the sushi menu.

The 10-piece premium sushi set
I ordered the premium sushi set. The sushi is made up of halibut, red seabream, salmon, squid, northern shrimp, tuna akami, red shrimp, snow crab, eel and monkfish liver — 10 pieces in total. On top of that, it comes with mini udon, two kinds of tempura, salad, and truffle chawanmushi.

The order arrives!
Finally, the order started coming out one by one. The sushi was plated neatly, which made it great for photos, and having so many kinds laid out at once made it look even more appetizing. Since the balance of ingredients and rice matters so much in sushi, it was fun tasting each piece and comparing the flavor and texture.

The side dish lineup
Before the sushi even came out, the set arrived with salad, truffle chawanmushi, mini udon, and two kinds of tempura, making for a quite generous spread. Being able to pair the sushi with various sides meant I stayed satisfied and never got bored throughout the meal. Other visit reviews also mention that the set comes with udon, tempura, salad, and chawanmushi together.
First, the salad was great for lightly waking up the palate before the sushi. The crisp texture of the vegetables made for a clean bite, pairing well between the greasy tempura and the sushi.
And the truffle chawanmushi I especially loved! Chawanmushi is Japanese-style steamed egg, and it's much softer and more moist than regular steamed egg. Here it had a subtle hint of truffle aroma layered onto the mild, savory base, adding a fragrant touch. Scooped with a spoon, it went down so smoothly that it wasn't heavy to eat even before the sushi.

Mini udon and two kinds of tempura
Mini udon came along too. The warm, clean broth with noodles made the meal feel much heartier than sushi alone. It's the perfect portion when a full bowl would be too much but you still want a little broth and noodles, making it a nice pairing alongside the sushi. Other reviews also mention that the udon broth is clean rather than sharp, making it good to eat between sushi pieces.
Lastly, the two kinds of tempura rounded things out nicely — shrimp tempura and karaage came together, letting me try crispy fried food of different kinds. The crispy batter and moist interior worked well, like it had just been fried, and the shrimp tempura especially had that springy shrimp texture that I really enjoyed. The karaage, made with chicken thigh, was crispy outside and tender inside, offering a different kind of appeal from the sushi.
From salad to truffle chawanmushi, mini udon, and two kinds of tempura, having so many sides beyond the sushi really made it feel like a proper full set. 🍣✨

The fun of picking through different sushi
One of sushi's biggest charms is definitely being able to taste many kinds at once. Alternating between the milder pieces and the richer, more flavorful ones let me feel the differences between each.
When a plate comes with several kinds of sushi together, deciding what to eat first is oddly fun too. Starting with the milder pieces and moving toward the richer ones seemed like a good approach. For anyone who loves sushi, this lineup felt like a satisfying way to eat.

Enjoying the sushi
I properly worked through the sushi piece by piece. The balance between the fish and the rice made it easy to eat without feeling heavy. Since the taste changes depending on how much soy sauce or wasabi you add, adjusting to your own preference makes it even more enjoyable.
The clean taste of the fish blending with the subtly seasoned rice made for a smooth, refreshing bite. Having so many kinds together meant I never got tired of one flavor and kept looking forward to the next piece.
Clean Japanese food in Incheon
Beyond sushi, being able to enjoy a range of Japanese dishes made this a good fit for anyone looking for Japanese food in Incheon or Songdo. Japanese cuisine has that charm of letting the ingredients' natural flavor shine through cleanly, and this meal was made up of dishes that felt light and easy to enjoy.
If you're looking for a clean place to eat in Songdo, this one's worth adding to your list.

This visit to Sushi Doku The Songdo was a great choice when I wanted to enjoy sushi and Japanese food cleanly in Songdo. Being able to try a wide range of sushi evenly made it especially good for sushi lovers, and the range of menu choices made it easy to eat according to taste. Next time, I'd like to order some other Japanese dishes too and enjoy an even wider variety. :)
