Hi, this is travel blogger Lucky Road. I was mulling over lunch options in Jeonpo when I got a craving for curry, so I headed to Sarugak20. I've always found it a shame that you usually have to pick just one curry at these places, but here they have a half-and-half curry that puts two kinds on a single plate. So I ordered one half-and-half curry and one beef cream curry, plus a side sausage. The two plates looked so different even while I was taking photos that I got even more curious about the flavors.

Where is Sarugak20 and is there parking?
Sarugak20 sits in an alley in Jeonpo-dong, Busan. Jeonpo has so many interesting shops that it's a great area to wander before or after a meal.
I went there craving curry, and ended up enjoying the surrounding vibe just as much. Stepping inside the building, a cozy space unfolds that's a world apart from the alley outside.
One thing to keep in mind: there's no on-site parking. If you're driving, it's worth checking nearby parking lots ahead of time. The alleys of Jeonpo are easier to navigate with a specific address saved, so if it's your first visit, I'd recommend saving the location beforehand.
What is the basement dining room like?
Walking into Sarugak20, the first thing that caught my eye was the warm-toned wooden furniture.
Round stools sit in front of a long bar table, and cups and bowls are neatly lined up on shelves. White cloth hangings paired with the wood shelving gave the whole space a calm, comfortable feel.
On one side there were postcards and small trinkets too. Looking them over while waiting for the curry made the time pass more enjoyably — having a little corner like this inside a restaurant adds a lot.
Even the hand-washing area had small artwork and trinkets, so I found myself noticing little details everywhere.
Most of all, I loved the wood-tone tables for taking food photos. The curry's colors on the white plates stood out clearly against the wooden tabletop — the kind of setup that makes you reach for your camera the moment your food arrives.

That day at Sarugak20, we ordered the half-and-half curry, the beef cream curry, and a side sausage. What drew me in most while choosing was, of course, the half-and-half curry. When I go out for curry, I'm always curious about both the cream curry and the darker, richer curry — and here you can try both on one plate.
The beef cream curry we also ordered had a different setup from the half-and-half, so I figured it'd be great for two people to share. When the dishes actually arrived, the half-and-half curry had rice down the middle with a curry on each side, while the beef cream curry had beef pieces piled on top of the rice. Same curry menu, but each plate looked completely different, which made the table feel quite full.
For a side, we added the sausage. Two curry plates alone would've been enough, but I wanted something to pick at in between bites. The sausage came on its own plate, which made it easy to share.
How does the half-and-half curry arrive?
Sarugak20's half-and-half curry is the kind of dish you photograph the moment it lands. Rice runs lengthwise down the center of the plate, with two different colored curries on either side. The rich brown curry was topped with cheese, while the other side held a generous serving of light-colored cream curry. A small tomato placed in the middle rounded out a plate that looked great from every angle. Rather than mixing everything together right away, I preferred alternating between the two curries as I ate.
Beef brisket cream curry and the side sausage
With the beef cream curry, the first thing you notice is the beef piled on top of the rice. The plate held a generous amount of cream curry, so scooping small bites of rice with the sauce was satisfying. Pairing the beef with rice made for a different kind of eating experience than the half-and-half. Ordering both menus together, they seemed like variations on the same cream curry, but eating them felt surprisingly different. If you're visiting as a pair and want to split the menu, this felt like a pretty solid combination.
Honest verdict on Sarugak20
What I liked most at Sarugak20 was the half-and-half curry. Not having to commit to just one curry, and the whole process of alternating rice between the two sauces, was genuinely fun. The beef cream curry is a good pick when you want something a bit heartier, with the beef on top. It's not just the food that stuck with me — the space did too. With its wooden furniture and charming little details, even the waiting time before the meal felt enjoyable. If you're craving curry in Jeonpo and want a relaxed meal in a nice-looking space, this is worth a stop. Keep it in mind next time you're in the mood for curry in Jeonpo!
