A stylish French fusion bar near Jeonpo Station
Jeonpo-dong near Seomyeon in Busan is somewhere I find myself returning to for dates, since one neighborhood has everything from great restaurants and cafés to atmospheric bars! While looking for somewhere to have a light second round after dinner, I found this Jeonpo bar. It’s called Voyage Bistro (보야지비스트로), and it’s only a five-minute walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station, so it’s easy to reach by public transit!

Why I chose it for a Jeonpo date
Why I picked Voyage Bistro as a Jeonpo date spot! It’s a comfortable place to share delicious bar food in a lovely atmosphere. It has that sentimental Jeonpo-bar vibe, so it felt just as good for a date as it did for simply coming out for drinks. The French-inspired fusion menu was delicious too, which is why I wanted to share this place.

Voyage is a bar whose name carries the French meaning of “journey.” A bistro, I hear, is a small restaurant where you can comfortably enjoy a range of drinks and food in an intimate space.

This Jeonpo date-worthy spot is a fusion bar based on French cuisine, so whatever you order is right up a Korean palate’s alley. (╹ڡ╹ )

At most Jeonpo-dong bars, the complimentary snack is usually just something light like chips, but here they serve tortillas and potato salad. An extra serving of the complimentary snack is ₩3,000.

What we ordered and the prices
- Sriracha-mayo butter shrimp ₩19,000
- Voyage Highball ₩7,000
- Non-alcoholic wine ₩13,000

Non-alcoholic wine and the Voyage Highball
It was made from real wine with only the alcohol removed, while keeping the wine’s flavor and aroma intact, so it tasted great. I was considering a cocktail, but the Voyage Highball was recommended as a bestseller, so I ordered that instead. It’s a basic whiskey-based highball with the gentle tang of maesil (Korean green plum) and a caramel note. It was slightly sweet, with a subtle depth from the whiskey, making it nice for a light drink. With its low alcohol content, it also went perfectly with the delicious French-inspired food.

Sriracha-mayo butter shrimp
This is another popular bestseller! It’s a dish of shrimp browned in butter, generously topped with assorted vegetables and house-made sriracha mayo, then wrapped up in tortillas.

The rich butter shrimp with spicy yet creamy sriracha mayo made for such a completely new flavor! This is a place serving fusion dishes rooted in French food but reinterpreted for Korean tastes.

Everything we ordered was so tasty that I started wondering about the other menu items too, haha. It’s such a great Jeonpo date spot that I’m planning to come whenever I’m in Jeonpo-dong! The food is great, of course, but the owner and staff are incredibly kind too...❣️
