Nam-gu, Ulsan café for weekend grilled sandwich brunch: Benetto

It had been a while, so my husband and I went out for brunch at a café in Ulsan on a weekend morning! While looking for an Ulsan brunch café, we visited Benetto, which had some slightly special menu items.

Grilled sandwich brunch near Ulsan City Hall

Rather than typical brunch dishes, this Ulsan café focuses on grilled sandwiches, making it an easy but filling meal.

It is near Ulsan City Hall, and we parked in the Ulsan City Hall parking lot right next door before walking over to the café. The lot is free on weekends. Street parking is also possible on weekends and public holidays. Apparently, on weekdays, one-hour City Hall street parking is available from 11:30 to 14:00. A brunch café where parking is not a worry :)

Takeout gets a ₩1,000 discount. This place is great for sandwich brunches, but it is also a café with seriously good coffee. I recommend stopping by for takeout too!

A warm, calm wood-toned atmosphere

As soon as I walked in, the warm, wood-toned interior caught my eye. The natural-wood feel throughout made it comfortable and cozy.

Instead of being a flashy café, it has a warm and relaxed mood, which felt especially suited to a morning visit.

Jambon basil and Mexican beef grilled sandwiches

The biggest reason I came to Benetto in Ulsan was its special brunch menu: grilled sandwiches!

When ordering a sandwich, changing it to a coffee set only costs an extra ₩2,000! We added ₩2,000 to each one and got to enjoy the Ulsan brunch café menu for a little less.

There were also some special new items besides the grilled sandwiches. The jambon burrata garden sandwich and ratatouille sandwich, and so on, looked so pretty that I am planning another visit next time.

There is cheesecake, too, for anyone looking for dessert.

Crisp and moist grilled sandwiches

Our order came out. They grill the sandwiches to order, and the smell is incredible!!

Maybe because they are grilled, the bread was crisp on the outside yet moist and soft inside. There were lots of different ingredients tucked inside, so every bite brought a mix of flavors.

They felt different from the sandwiches I usually eat. Personally, if you are looking for a good sandwich spot in Ulsan, I think these are worth trying at least once.

Americano that paired well with the sandwiches

An Ulsan brunch café with good coffee, too! I went expecting only the sandwiches, but the coffee was better than I expected~ I ordered an iced Americano and a hot Americano, and the beans were nicely balanced, so they went well with the sandwiches. A sandwich + coffee combination was just perfect for a weekend breakfast 👍

Plastic gloves provided for easy eating

And one thoughtful touch! They provided plastic gloves so the sandwiches would be easier to eat. Since the sandwiches were thick, they were much easier to hold and eat by hand, and I loved that they had prepared even this little detail. Cutlery was also set out separately on one side of the café, so we could take what we needed.

A weekend route that continues with a walk at Ulsan Grand Park

I think it would also be nice to head to Ulsan Grand Park afterward for a walk or an outing. I had coffee and grilled sandwiches at Benetto, the Ulsan brunch café, then walked around Ulsan Grand Park, and it was sooo nice?!

Parking is relatively easy on weekends, and you can enjoy brunch from the morning, so it was great to make it part of a weekend outing. I would recommend Benetto to anyone looking for a special sandwich menu, an Ulsan brunch café, or a good sandwich spot in Ulsan :).
