Brunch café near Ulsan City Hall: Sandwiches at Benetto
In short
Benetto (베네또) is a brunch café near Ulsan City Hall in Nam-gu, where I had two sandwiches and Americano by the window one morning. I liked the chunky filling in the ratatouille sandwich and the subtle basil aroma in the jambon (ham) and basil grilled sandwich. Parking out front was tight, so we used the City Hall parking lot.

I went to Benetto (베네또) near Ulsan City Hall for brunch one morning. I paid for this visit myself. We sat by the window and ordered a ratatouille sandwich (라따뚜이샌드위치, a vegetable stew sandwich), a jambon and basil grilled sandwich (잠봉바질그릴샌드위치, with ham and basil), and Americano.

Where is the café, and what time does it open?
Benetto is right near Ulsan City Hall, on the 1st floor at 4 Jungang-ro 213beon-gil, Nam-gu, Ulsan, South Korea (울산 남구 중앙로213번길 4). The hours listed in the original post are 8am–7pm on weekdays and 10am–5pm on Saturdays. It is closed every Sunday.
Where can you park?
The parking space right in front of the café was rather tight. We were advised to use the post office or Ulsan City Hall parking lot, so we parked at City Hall and walked over. We parked for close to two hours that day and paid about ₩350. That was the actual fee I paid during my visit.
What are the window seats and interior like?
It looked small from outside, but inside there were more tables than I expected, and the space felt open. The décor was tidy, with warm wood tones.
We sat by a window where the sunlight came in. The atmosphere was relaxed enough that I could imagine coming back alone for an unhurried meal.

How much are the sandwiches and coffee sets?
- Ratatouille sandwich: ₩9,000
- Jambon and basil grilled sandwich: ₩10,000
- Americano: ₩4,000 per cup on its own
- Add coffee to a sandwich as a set: ₩2,000
We ordered two sandwiches and three Americanos, and the total came to ₩27,000.

How quickly did the food arrive, and was it easy to eat?
After we ordered, I could smell sandwiches grilling in the kitchen, and the food arrived sooner than I expected. They gave us disposable plastic gloves along with wet wipes, which made it easy to pick up the sandwiches. I could eat without worrying as much about getting sauce or crumbs on my hands.

How did the two sandwiches compare?
What was the ratatouille sandwich's texture like?
The filling in the ratatouille sandwich was cut into large pieces, giving it a satisfying texture. The flavors were mild and subtle overall, so it was easy to enjoy in the morning.

Was the basil strong in the jambon and basil grilled sandwich?
The basil aroma in the jambon and basil grilled sandwich was subtle rather than overpowering. The rich cheese, salty jambon, and sauce came together for a savory flavor.

Did the sandwiches suit our taste for stronger flavors?
My companion and I usually like plenty of sauce, so we wanted a little more flavor than the sandwiches had as served. When we asked for extra sauce, the staff kindly brought some over, and adding it made the sandwiches more to our taste. The cold, clean-tasting Americano went well with them too.
