The weather was lovely, so I went for a drive toward Eonyang and stopped by MUG (카페 먹), a café that looked like a nice place to take a break. With bakery treats as well as drinks, it was an easy place to drop into. It was especially spacious and comfortable, so if you are looking for a café in Eonyang, it is worth visiting at least once.
MUG’s relaxed atmosphere
Eonyang has cafés with a relaxed atmosphere that feels quite different from cafés in the city, and MUG was the one I visited this time.

I was curious about the dark exterior, and I learned that this site had previously had a fire. At first, it simply caught my eye because of its atmosphere, but knowing that story made the space feel a little more special.

Inside, it felt quite different from the dark mood of the exterior. Lush green plants added to the calm setting, making it feel even more comfortable.

Greenery was dotted throughout, so it was easy to linger without feeling closed in. I liked this bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan as a space to rest over a cup of coffee.
Drinks and bakery menu
MUG, a bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan, serves bakery items alongside standard café drinks.

Along with coffee and other standard drinks, there are several signature options too.

The bakery selection was just as varied as the drinks. If you visit MUG, I recommend trying a cinnamon roll, since it is a popular item.

If you choose a sweet bakery item, a clean Americano makes a great pairing. If coffee is not your thing, though, it is nice with another drink too.
The signature drinks and desserts I ordered
- MUG Lemon Smoothie — ₩7,500
- 100% Organic Hadong Matcha Latte — ₩7,500
- Strawberry Preserve Latte — ₩7,500
- Lemon Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll — ₩6,800
- Lamington Cake — ₩6,500

Ordering drinks alone felt a little incomplete, so I ordered some sweet bakery treats as well.

It looks dark like MUG itself, but one sip reveals a bright, refreshing lemon smoothie—a fun surprise. From its name and appearance to its flavor, it has playful touches throughout, so it felt like more than just a drink: a signature menu item that shows MUG’s identity.

The organic Hadong matcha latte was on the sweet side, but the matcha aroma was not lost beneath the sweetness and came through gently. Rather than the distinctive bittersweet matcha fragrance hitting strongly, it was soft and easy to drink.

Sweet strawberries and smooth milk come together for a refreshingly sweet strawberry flavor, making this a good choice for anyone who finds coffee a bit much.

I heard cinnamon rolls are a popular, fast-selling item at this bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan, so I ordered the lemon cream cheese cinnamon roll and Lamington together.

The lemon cream cheese cinnamon roll is exactly what its name suggests: a cinnamon roll topped with lemon cream cheese. Lemon’s brightness joins cinnamon’s sweet, fragrant flavor, keeping it tasting clean. The cream cheese adds a soft, rich note too, so it feels different from a cinnamon roll that is simply sweet.

Lamington is an Australian-style dessert of soft cake with chocolate and coconut. With each bite, the chocolate sweetness comes first, followed by coconut’s nutty flavor. Its soft texture also makes it a good match for coffee.
A café for a short break in Eonyang
MUG is a lovely place to enjoy coffee and bread in a relaxed space with a story behind it. It is somewhere anyone can unwind, making it a good café for a short break in Eonyang.
