Hello there haha 🤗 Today I'm introducing a milmyeon (cold wheat noodle) and dwaeji gukbap (pork soup) restaurant near Busan Station, 'Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap' ❗

Walking to Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap from Busan Station, and where to park
Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is just a short walk into the alley by the CU convenience store right across from Busan Station. The building is pretty so it wasn't hard to find haha. There's no dedicated parking lot at the restaurant itself, so if you're driving, the nearest option seems to be the Chinatown public parking lot :)

There was a wait when I visited during lunchtime, but turnover was fast so I got in within 10 minutes 🙌 Also, I noticed a second Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap branch recently opened in the shopping arcade of Hotel Asti next to Busan Station! If you want a quick meal at Busan Station, visiting the new Busan Station branch might be a good option too 😊

What we ordered at Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap, and the prices
- Suyuk baekban ₩13,000
- Mul milmyeon (small) ₩8,000
- Bibim milmyeon (small) ₩8,000
- Mandu ₩7,000
- Zero Coke ₩2,000
This is what I ordered ❗

The restaurant was pretty crowded so I couldn't take separate photos of the interior, but the space is quite large, so eating there was comfortable :)
The side dishes came out as soon as I ordered 🙌

Maybe it's because I also ordered the suyuk baekban, but baechu kimchi (napa cabbage kimchi), kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and mumallaengi (dried radish strips) all came out together, which was nice to eat alongside everything :)

Why the cucumber and radish arrive on a separate plate
And at Yeongdong Milmyeon, the cucumber and radish come out separately so you can add them to your bowl however you like — I thought that was nice because people who dislike cucumber can just leave it out without having to ask ahead of time haha.

Does the mul milmyeon come with ice in the broth?
I tried the mul milmyeon first. I'm someone who believes the whole foundation of mul milmyeon is the slushy ice, so I always check for that first lol. Thankfully, the broth came out with plenty of icy slush floating in it :)
Yeongdong's mul milmyeon had a tangy, sour-leaning flavor typical of milmyeon. It was better when I added in all the cucumber and radish that came alongside it, rather than eating it plain 😋

How spicy is the bibim milmyeon at Yeongdong?
Just looking at the bibim milmyeon, it was so red I thought it would be quite spicy, but when I actually ate it, the sesame oil aroma was stronger than the spiciness :)

Mandu for 7,000 won: how many dumplings do you get?
And mandu (dumplings), which you can't skip with milmyeon ❗ It was definitely even more delicious eaten together with the noodles haha. You get about 10 pieces of mandu, so the portion was good for sharing 🙌

Suyuk baekban for 13,000 won: the pork slices and the soup
And the dish I was most curious about, suyuk baekban ❗ It came with thick-sliced suyuk (boiled pork) and a suyuk dipping sauce :)
Just look at the sheen on that suyuk...🧐 I think the biggest strength of Yeongdong Milmyeon & Dwaeji Gukbap is being able to eat milmyeon and dwaeji gukbap together.

The suyuk wasn't dry at all and was delicious 😋

And the soup that came with the suyuk baekban was especially my style haha. The broth was clean with no seasoning added, so I added saeujeot (salted shrimp) and dadaegi (spicy seasoning) and ate it exactly the way I like it :)
