A bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan, built as a cultural space with its own gallery! MUG is a great place to go on a date.

Today my partner and I found a nice offbeat café near Ulsan and headed straight there for a drive! It's called MUG (카페 먹), a bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan, and I heard it's prettily put together like a cultural complex. It sounded perfect for a date, so we went right away.

What are parking and the exterior like at MUG in Eonyang?

MUG is huge, so the moment we arrived I thought, this must be the place. The parking lot is just as big, so you can visit without worrying about parking, which I loved 👍👍👍

The open view was gorgeous too. The landscaping is lovely: sunflowers and other flowers in bloom on one side, pumpkin vines growing like a fence, and the older visitors were all totally absorbed in taking photos haha ^_^

Inside MUG: a cultural space with a gallery

Since the inside is set up as a cultural space, there was a gallery and plenty to look at. It's not just a plain space; as an offbeat café should, it was fun to take photos like these 😊😊

Another good point! At bakery cafés in Eonyang, Ulsan, grabbing a seat is usually a fight, but MUG has so many tables that you don't have to scramble for one. So nice 🥹

What are MUG's signature drinks?

On MUG's menu, the signature items are marked with a star 😳 The MUG Black Latte, MUG Lemon Smoothie and MUG Lemonade were starred as the popular ones, and there was a wide range of smoothies and other drinks.

What time should you get to MUG for the best bread selection?

We visited MUG around 3 p.m. on a weekday and a lot of the bread was already gone. After looking over the drinks, we browsed the bakery display, and as you'd expect from a popular bakery café in Eonyang, Ulsan, the hot breads seem to be something you need to get to in the early afternoon.

The cinnamon rolls in particular are MUG's popular lineup, and they said the tiramisu cinnamon roll is the hot one on weekends. We went on a weekday and the popular items were already sold out, so I couldn't even see it. Next time I'll go on a weekend and try the tiramisu cinnamon roll *_*

The wildfire story behind MUG's site

After you order at MUG, they hand you a sheet of paper that explains the meaning of the space. It turns out the spot where MUG stands was once the site of a wildfire 😢

Once I knew that, the space felt a little more special. We sat for a moment and the drinks were ready right away, so we picked them up!

How were MUG's strawberry preserve latte and croissant?

At MUG we picked a strawberry cheong latte (cheong is fruit preserved in sugar), an Americano, and a croissant from the bakery! The strawberry latte was packed with real strawberry cheong, so the rich flavor was so sweet and good 🥺🥺🥺 If you love strawberry lattes, you'll absolutely love it‼️

The croissant was crisp with its layers nicely defined, and I really enjoyed it 🙂👍 Bread and coffee really are the right combo... ♥︎

Is MUG in Eonyang good for a date or a group meetup?

MUG has lots of space and tables, so it works well for a group get-together, and it's also great for a date on a drive out of the city. I fully recommend spending a good time at MUG 💓
