4-flavor oranda snack set for carry-on at Jeju Dongmun Market
In short
Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is a handmade oranda (Korean rice snack) shop in Dongmun Market, Jeju. Before heading to the airport, the writer tasted samples at the main branch and picked up the 4-flavor oranda set (₩23,000), with gamtae seaweed, yuzu, garlic, and nut oranda packed individually, 20 pieces in all, easy to slide straight into a carry-on suitcase. The chewy, not-hard texture makes it a solid souvenir gift pick for any age.

When it comes to snack souvenirs from Dongmun Market, nothing beats Cheongchuni Oranda!
Cheongchuni Oranda has two locations — Olle Market and Dongmun Market — and I picked up my order for takeout at the Dongmun Market branch right before heading to the airport.

It's a handmade snack that reimagines traditional oranda for modern tastes. The many varieties are laid out so it's easy to see everything at a glance. There's even a big-size version of the 4-flavor oranda.

The chewy texture I confirmed at the tasting corner
A tasting corner you can't just walk past! Different flavors are laid out so you can try a bit of each. I grabbed one and it wasn't the hard kind of oranda — it was chewy. Oranda can sometimes hurt your teeth because it's so hard, but Cheongchuni's is chewy, which I loved. All my fellow chewy-oranda fans, gather round🤗 So good!!

The owner makes every product fresh in-store on the same day! Using Jeju-grown ingredients generously and only jocheong (grain syrup) instead of sugar, the flavor is addictive yet clean — truly a work of art. After tasting, I ordered the 4-flavor oranda.

What's inside the 4-flavor oranda set
Once you order, they pack it straight into a box for you.

The cute packaging design makes it a great option for gifts or thank-you presents too.

The box contains four kinds of oranda — nut, garlic, gamtae seaweed, and yuzu — five pieces each, 20 pieces total.

Does it fit in a carry-on?
Each flavor comes individually wrapped, which makes it perfect for gifting. I just placed it straight into my carry-on suitcase and it fit right in. The size and weight are totally manageable for hand-carrying!

How the four oranda flavors differ
Gamtae seaweed oranda — said to be Cheongchuni Oranda's best-selling item. It's made by peeling layer after layer of domestic gamtae seaweed, giving it a sweet-and-salty flavor. One bite and you understand why it's the bestseller — the taste and aroma of gamtae seaweed comes through gently.
Tangerine chip yuzu oranda — Jeju-grown yuzu and tangerine chips come together for a refreshing combo. It has a subtle sweetness and a fragrant yuzu aroma.
Garlic oranda — made with domestic garlic, garlic butter, and parsley, it tastes just like garlic bread!
Nut oranda — the flavor closest to the oranda most people know. Made with five kinds of nuts and seeds: peanuts, almonds, black sesame, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.

Family reaction and what's next
I used to only buy gwajul at Dongmun Market, but this time I brought home oranda from Cheongchuni and my family devoured it happily. It's a flavor people of all ages will love. Grab a pack of oranda full of healthy sweetness, rich flavor, and nuttiness for yourself🫶🏻
You don't even need to visit Jeju — you can order from Cheongchuni Oranda's Naver Smart Store too >_< Next time I'll have to try the donut oranda haha.
